SYDNEY — A lockdown in Australia’s largest city was extended through September and tougher measures to curb the coronavirus’s delta variant were imposed Friday, including a curfew and a mask mandate outdoors.
New South Wales state, which includes Sydney, reported 642 locally acquired infections in the latest 24-hour period, the fourth consecutive day of tallies exceeding 600.
Sydney has been locked down since late June after the more contagious delta variant was detected in a limousine driver who became infected while transporting a US cargo aircrew from Sydney Airport.
Since then, 65 people have died from COVID-19 in New South Wales, included four overnight.

If you can’t provide technical specifications for the required masks, there is simply no scientific basis for pretending the ability to predict the effectiveness of “masks”.

Face it mates, this bug is never going away despite what they claim. Add it to the list of colds, flus and pneumonias. Treat as needed.

This “Delta” variant scam is simply pure evil genius. Give them credit for ways to keep this going forever. Even a segment of Freepers have been drinking the Koolaid. A good portion of society is as subdued and defeated as the poor souls in Afghanistan.
But if you’re asymptomatic, why get a test?
Only Genomic Sequencing can do that, and it simply is too expensive and not widely available for them to make the claims they are making about "the spread of the Delta variant."

Face if folks, Australia can no longer count itself as being among the nations of the free world. It has devolved into an authoritarian bureaucracy.
Yes even my insane Canada is not in this sort of lockdown and we have had 30 times the deaths of Australia. My province is ready for full unrestricted opening in September. No social distancing. No mask mandates.
Because the government requires them to for a variety of made-up reasons so that they can inflate “infection” numbers. Duh.
The PCR is a lousy diagnostic test, especially if run at higher cycle thresholds.
I’m happy to say that masks are few and far between where I live. For a week or two after the media started screeching the delta variant fear porn, the number of muzzled people at stores and restaurants increased, but they have dropped back down to almost nobody.
