Shaping up to be an interesting Federal race in Canada (Sept. 20)

Trudeau thought he had it in the bag, so he called a snap election - under a Westminster-style Parliamentary system, the governing Party has the power to control the timing - but now is somewhat consternated that he isn't doing as well as he expected ... and after all the covid bribes too ...

Erin O'Toole is an interesting guy, and mostly overlooked until now ... let's hope he can get rid of the Trudeau Idiocy!!

What’s most fascinating about this election is the contrast between a decent, mature and serious leader like O’Toole and the “boys” who now head the Liberal and NDP parties. The Conservative leader is a man who combines the discipline and strategic aptitude of a military officer with the attention to detail and precision of a corporate lawyer who worked with sophisticated clients.

It's always funny to see journalists promoting this kind of hero-worship for politicians. If this guy O'Toole ever gets elected, he will be like every other politician who ever lived - he will disappoint his backers. Responsible journalism would stick to "whatever his faults, he's better than Trudeau" - it would be far more realistic, and being better than Trudeau is a low hurdle to clear.

I’m not at all positive and have frankly given up on Canada. Not even sure I will bother voting. This bag of piss that rules Canada is exactly what my goose stepping fellow Canadians want. The CPC has officially run away from opposing abortion but that still isn’t good enough for milquetoast Canadians. We are NOT our grandfathers’ generations.

Erin O'Toole is an interesting guy

I'm a little confused here. "Erin" is a girl's name. I know this because it is what we named our eldest daughter. Is "his" name actually Aaron, not Erin? Or, is this how they spell a man's name "Erin" instead of "Aaron" in Canada?
