the first ten cases of the AY3 coronavirus strain based on the Delta strain had been found in Israel. The AY3 strain is based on the Delta variant, from which a number of further mutations have been found, including several considered more "virulent." Of those infected, eight had returned from abroad and two were infected inside Israel.
....This week, a representative of the Health Ministry in the Knesset said of the strain that it "causes concern and will lead us to lockdown" and expressed concern about the possibility of it being discovered in Israel, since it is a variant with a high infection rate that can develop a resistance to the coronavirus vaccines.
The Health Ministry on Thursday morning reported that the number of severe coronavirus cases had reached 603.

I figured I wasn’t paying attention and missed Bravo and Charlie when Delta made the headlines. Then missed the next seven variants until I was awake enough to hear about Lambda, why wasn’t it Lima, oh well. But dang now Alpha Yankee 3, clear through the alphabet how many times?

My take is that this is more proof that the vaccines cause the variants. The vaccines may be end up being responsible for the end of the human race. Israel is heavily vaccinated.
This is starting to piss me off - the pressure they are putting on people to get vaccinated.
I have family that’s already vaccinated, so I sure hope they turn out to be harmless - but if they are dangerous, I the danger happens soon enough to scare them into quitting these mass human experimentation before the whole population is poisoned.

If true it would be ironic - but I think it’s unlikely.
The vaccination rate in the UK is right up there with Israel. Importantly almost everyone in the UK who catches COVID, has had the infection gene-sequenced to check for new variants. There haven’t been any home grown ones since the “Kent” Alpha variant (detected September 2020) - at least not that we are being told about.

It may be the shots, or it could be the passports is the end game...with all the $$$ and all the control :(
This is right before the High Holiday season. We were shut down last year, and it was horrible. Two years in a row? F@#$ it. I’ll take my chances against a stupid virus, but I am dancing with the Torah on Simchas Torah, and spending all day in shul on Yom Kippur, and let them just try to stop me! The economy would suffer more from another lockdown on the holidays than it would from a few more cases in the ICU. And now there’s the Hydroxichloroquin protocol and Regeneron, which can keep people from getting into the ICU in the first place! F#@$ it. No lockdowns.
