A school board in Texas has added masks to their dress code – seemingly circumventing Governor Greg Abbott's ban on new COVID-19 restrictions. Face coverings are now part of the dress code for students in the the Paris Independent School District.
In a statement about its amended dress code, the school district board said it believes the "dress code can be used to mitigate communicable health issues, and therefore has amended the PISD dress code to protect our students and employees."

They have names and addresses.
We know where those dirtbags live.
“Ya gotta admit, it’s a pretty inventive way of getting around Abbott’s order.”
Doesn’t hold a candle to how they get around Critical Race Theory laws, with the parents ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS (my sister is a school teacher). In fact, they hold seminars on workarounds.
If a teacher tries to enforce any rule against an inner city youth, that might be taken as “disrespect.” And the youth might send that teacher to the nurse’s office.
The first thing I thought when I saw this article is: Commies are gonna commie.
That's all we have been doing with leftists since FDR, from lower taxes means a better economy for everyone, to abundant energy does not cause global cooling, to a strong military means a safer America, to abundant energy does not cause global warming, to armed citzens are safer, to masks can't stop a virus... it does not matter since all they want is for you to be a slave of the State ...
...but I don’t really believe it is.
A ban on mask mandates is just that...it doesn’t matter what wrapping you put around it. It doesn’t mean you can bypass it under the umbrella of something else.
It’s like saying you can own firearms but the government can limit bullet production to 100 per year and put a 10,000% tax on all weapons. It’s unconstitutional.
It isn’t funny and it isn’t clever - more like juvenile.
Any particular way to stop the workarounds (other than pulling your kids out of virtually every public AND PRIVATE school in the country)?
“Any particular way to stop the workarounds (other than pulling your kids out of virtually every public AND PRIVATE school in the country)?”
I think for CRT, you can pretty much stop it by having 24/7 video monitoring of the classrooms AND having laws against it. Just one of the these two is useless. With both in place, parents can record the CRT crap and then, hopefully, take action.
But even then, I cannot think of a way to get control of curriculum. Here in Texas we used to have the nationally-famous “Textbook Wars”, where the state would approve certain books that the state would pay for. The state didn’t force to the schools to use those books (they should have), but if the schools didn’t use the approved books, the schools had to pay out of pocket for the books they did use.
But they got around that by going to ‘free’ (i.e., Soros-sponsored) on-line curriculum and the entire State Board of Education was neutered...and, as always, the schools did as they please.
It took the state about a decade to catch on and I still don’t know if they’ve ended that crap.
Print off masks that say “CHILD ABUSE BY ISD FACISTS!”
I could be wrong, but isn’t a governor higher ranked than a
school board?
Slap a $10,000 a day fine on each school that tries to skirt
the ban.
Dumbassery. Their own declaration states it’s for ‘health reasons’, meaning it’s not ‘dress code’ but clearly in contravention of Abbott’s order.
We’re past all that, have been for a long time. The sooner folks realize it, the better it’ll be.
I had considerable “interaction” with the school system in Polk County, FL in the 90s. I should have kept a journal and written a book.
I’ve had some teachers in recent years get hopping mad at me and call me a liar when recounting *facts* and some of the “educators” I dealt with.
The only thing they are interested in with regards to parents is compliance. They truly don’t see you as in charge of your child. I straightened that out with them as far as my kid was concerned. But I’ll tell you this, these people are utterly relentless, they just wear down the few parents who go up against them.
In the past four months I have known five acquaintances—all very zealous mask wearers—who have contracted serious cases of bacterial pneumonia. Some had double pneumonia.
I don’t have any non-masking acquaintances suffering from pneumonia!
They're addicted to maskerbation.
SARC. So now all the male students have to wear a “dress” as well as a mask?
It’s getting so you can’t tell the males from the females.
Might have to do a “Crocodile Dundee” “check” on them, “just to be sure”
