Lawmakers from President Biden's own party are continuing to fume about the unfolding chaos in Afghanistan and firing up probes where they will demand answers from the Democratic administration.
The push for formal oversight comes even as White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan promised an internal 'hotwash' that would ultimately take a look back at how the events culminated in the sudden collapse of Kabul and a rush to evacuate U.S. nationals and allies.
The increasingly frustrated Democrats are vowing to investigate what went wrong, setting up a formal and public reckoning even as the Biden team is trying is fielding off bitter criticism from Republicans and former President Donald Trump.

U.S. officials said about 1,100 U.S. citizens, permanent residents and their families were evacuated on 13 flights Tuesday.
The precise number of Americans outside Kabul was not immediately clear but up to 15,000 ~ 40,000 may still be in Afghanistan, the Post reported. The Taliban has been on the offensive across the country for weeks. At a news briefing later Tuesday, Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s national security adviser, told reporters that the Taliban expressed a willingness to provide “safe passage of civilians to the airport,” the report said.
The U.S. is trying to process tens of thousands of visas to airlift roughly 15,000 civilians out of as the Taliban seizes control of the nation’s capital. CBS News’ Christina Ruffini joins CBSN’s Michael George with the latest.

What industries did Kabul and Afghanistan have to attract these people and pay them to live in

Did our tax $’s pay for these Americans to be there with their families?
If so, what benefit did we receive for our investments?
Faked polls don’t seem to be sparing the DEMs from public disapproval of Biden and, by extension, their party. Not enough to overcome voter fraud, I would imagine, but still a concern. The DEMs want an election slaughter and massive mandate in 2022.
