Nearly 70% of likely American voters disapprove of how President Joe Biden is handling the situation in Afghanistan as the Taliban takes control of the country, according to a recently released poll.
The Trafalgar Group released a poll on Monday which found that 59.5% of respondents strongly disapproved of Biden’s handling of Afghanistan while 9.8% disapproved, for a combined 69.3% disapproval.
By contrast, 12.4% of respondents approved of Biden’s handling of Afghanistan, 10.7% strongly approve, and 7.5% responded that they have no opinion on the issue.
The poll was conducted Aug. 14-15 and had a sample of 1,084 “likely general election voters,” which had a reported margin of error of 2.98%.
Another finding of the poll was that Democrat respondents were also largely critical of Biden’s handling of Afghanistan, with 48.2% saying they either “strongly disapprove” or “disapprove,” while 39.8% saying they either “approve” or “strongly approve.”
Mark Meckler, president of conservative group Convention of States Action, which partnered with the Trafalgar Group to release the poll, said in a statement released Monday that the poll showed evidence that “the American people are not buying the lies on Afghanistan.”

The cataclysmic series of events over the last several days marked the most devastating period of the Biden presidency, and it comes at the precise moment when a growing number of Americans were already fearful of inflation and doubting Biden’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and the economy. Now, Biden’s credibility on the world stage is on the line.
Republicans are moving quickly to try and ensure the foreign policy blunder sticks, in an attempt to undermine one of Biden’s core political selling points — his steady hand — and to bludgeon down-ballot candidates in tough districts who believe the best way for their party to hold power is to pitch themselves as “Biden Democrats.”

Bush political guru. “The view that President Biden bolluxed this badly, gave our enemies a big win, consigned 39 million people to barbarism and diminished America’s credibility and standing in the world — those will remain. It will be impossible for President Biden to wash this stain away.”
Only Biden could screw up leaving a hugely unpopular war.

But what do the vote COUNTERS think about it? That’s all that matters.
How is it that over 30% of “eligible voters” can witness an absolute and total disaster which completely destroys our credibility caused by ham handed stupidity... and say that they approve??? How does the media get away with this? Are people completely brain washed?
One of the things not getting enough attention is that the US military were pulled out of Bagram Air base in the dead of night, no one warned the Afghan government it was going to happen and the 5000 Taliban prisoners that were left have now been released and are no doubt on the way back to the battlefield.

Don't be surprised how quickly Americans shrug this off and forget about it, just like they've largely forgotten about Afghanistan for the past decade.

You know it’s bad when the lazy GOP reps rush to the camera or mic to express their displeasure. They know it’s safe, they have a poll, now they can express an opinion.
Who are the 30% who do not disapprove of this?
They are still reeling from their TDS and blindly throwing support behind anything that’s anti-mean tweets.
So yes, braindwashed is likely an accurate description.
There will always be 15-30% of the populace that approves of their party’s handling of anything so to me, this is actually more devastating than it looks.
