Former President George W. Bush on Monday urged President Joe Biden to “cut the red tape” and allow for the swift evacuation of Afghan refugees following the Taliban’s takeover of the country.
Responding to the fall of Afghanistan’s US-backed government, Bush said the Afghans “at the greatest risk are the same ones who have been on the forefront of progress inside their nation.”
The costly US-led war in Afghanistan began just shy of 20 years ago after the 9/11 attack while Bush was president.
Bush, in his Monday statement, noted Biden has promised to evacuate the Afghans who assisted Americans and its NATO allies over the past two decades.
“The United States government has the legal authority to cut the red tape for refugees during urgent humanitarian crises. And we have the responsibility and the resources to secure safe passage for them now, without bureaucratic delay,” he said in his statement.

Today the Biden admin put out a call to all civilian federal employees to “help” with the resettlement of Afghan refugees into the United States, just as they did all this summer with the Mexican border crisis.
Perhaps this entire withdrawal was designed to quickly get more democrat voters into the US before the next election.
I don’t ever want to hear another word from GW Bush. Or any Bush, for that matter.
There would be no refugees if Bush just simply left after he won the war militarily in 3 months and he drove out the Taliban and did not embark on nation building. Even if we left them with the rubble and the Taliban came back, we would not have expended 2 trillion and 20 years and would be none the worse for it. His advice is worthless.
What would be a fair exchange? How many Afghan refugees into the U.S. for each Bush out of the U.S.?
He was born in the USA, though his parents were immigrants from Afghanistan. His father was an FBI informant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Mateen#Early_life
No, Shrub. They can go to Pocky-Ston.
Middle-aged twats wanting to be rape-u-gee’d.
The dummy speaks.
I have a different take... but could be wrong.. the ones coming over are the ones who supported the u.s. despite great risk to their lives. I believe they would mostly be republicans, patriotic ones. The key is to vet them carefully.
Also STFU Bushes.
Make his ranch tent city and he can support them he has 1600 acres
The “good” ones were raping boys. In other words, there are no good ones.
Of course he would.
What a great excuse to import more terrorists.
George better watch his mouth or pelosi might have him impeached.
Bush wants to speed up the destruction of the United States so they can rewrite the history books to paint him and his “new world order” daddy in a positive light. Just like they do with Chairman Mao in China.
With Bush, his family has been exposed for the fake conservatives they are and with W, it’s all about his image.
Says the guy who invaded Iraq for no reason.
As if Joe Biden needs any prodding. These two are always willing to import 100s of thousands more Ilhan Omars and Rasheeda Tlaibs into the USA.
It’s strange how it always has to be the USA. Why not Pakistan, or Syria, or Saudi Arabia, or countries in Africa?
file under trivia:
“Gary Reid, who runs the DOD’s Crisis Action Group for Afghanistan, confirmed that the 22,000 Afghan interpreters and their families will be housed at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, and Fort Bliss, Texas. Other military bases may be identified as needed.”
I’m not sure if that includes the 10,000 US -related people or in addition to

Thank you. Quite frankly I think it’s abuse to bring them here. I think they should send them to Dubai quite frankly.
