ennsylvania registered 5,951 new COVID-19 infections over the weekend, according to data from the state’s tracking dashboard.
It continues the surge that began in early July, when the daily average of new infections had fallen below 200.
As of early Monday, 1,115 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, up from 935 on Friday. Of those, 301 were in intensive care and 128 were on breathing ventilators.

Hospitalizations in Pennsylvania had fallen to 256 on July 13, with fewer than 50 in intensive care. The average daily number on ventilators had dipped to 32 on July 25.
As of Sunday, 80% of Pennsylvanians 18 or older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. That tied Pennsylvania for the ninth-highest percentage in the United States. Just over 64% of Pennsylvanians 18 or older are fully vaccinated.
The state health department as of early Monday had reported no new COVID-19 deaths since Friday.
Pennsylvania’s levels of new infections and hospitalizations remain well below its winter peaks. At the worst point, in December, daily infections topped 12,000 and well over 6,000 people were hospitalized. Deaths averaged more than 200 per day in early January.

The interactive graph at the Pennlive link indicates that hospitalizations are now about where they were in late October.

I believe I saw an article late last week indicating that PA was about 60% vaccinated.
Most of these numbers are just made up.

which of the swing states will be next to have a major increase in covid.... so far: TX, FL, Pa, GA how is MI doing. Where are all the infected illegal being shipped to?
Notice the rush to those $39,000 a day ventilators ... probably people on hospice for something else but an opportunity to turn tragedy into bucks.
How many of the new cases and hospitalizations were vaccinated/not vaccinated? Previously infected/not previously infected?
Does the state health department know this information? If so, are they sharing it with us? If not, why not?
