There were many better alternatives than what we see unfolding. This was a failure of our intelligence community to not brief him that this was an epic mistake. He is going to try and mix the issues obfuscate and gaslight the American people. He alone is responsible. I am sure he wanted the backdrop of 9/11 2021 to be him saying he ended the war after 20 years that is why it was rushed there is no logical reason why he and his advisors didn’t make significant changes to the plan.
