President Joe Biden and his administration struggled Sunday to project order amid a race by American and other foreign personnel to evacuate Afghanistan as Taliban fighters entered Kabul.
The rapid fall of Afghanistan’s national forces and government has come as a shock to Biden and senior members of his administration, who only last month believed it could take months before the civilian government in Kabul fell — allowing a period of time after American troops left before the full consequences of the withdrawal were laid bare.
Now, officials are frankly admitting they miscalculated.
“The fact of the matter is we’ve seen that that force has been unable to defend the country,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union,” referring to Afghanistan’s national security forces. “And that has happened more quickly than we anticipated.”

If Donald Trump were presiding over the debacle in Afghanistan, the US foreign policy establishment would be loudly condemning the irresponsibility and immorality of American strategy. Since it is Joe Biden in the White House there is instead, largely, an embarrassed silence.

Taliban to declare ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ soon – report:
The Taliban, who have rampaged across Afghanistan in recent days and earlier today entered the capital, Kabul, are on the verge of declaring that they have taken control of the country and that it is now the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, according to Press Association reports citing a Taliban official.
The declaration is expected to be made from the presidential palace in Kabul following the departure of Afghanistan’s president, Ashraf Ghani, earlier, who apparently fled, initially to Tajikistan. His current location is unconfirmed.
Senior Taliban commanders announced within the last two hours that they had taken control of the palace, according to news wire reports. More details and further confirmation are awaited.

Otherwise, the fact that it comes as a “shock” to them the rapid advancement by Taliban..tells you they really don’t know what they are doing.

They didn’t spend any time in this because their energy is on mandating classes for multi-gendered, finding Trump supporters, promoting Antifa and BLM, denigrating Trump, easing requirements, persecuting the unvaccinated, installing Critical Race Theory, promoting hate for those that don’t mask, paying Florida teachers that defy their Governor, commandering Private Jets for Texas Dems, stopping Pipelines and cheap energy, meeting with Auto makers to force Electric vehicles that report in their owners, funding the Dem Machine and sending Cash to Woke Cities, and meeting with bought-off Senators and dirty Generals paid with missing DoD money lies.
Just get our troops out. It’s going to get uglier. No need for our men and women to die for something we no longer control. These people have been fighting for ever. Whenever we left they would go back to it anyways.

As I posted on an earlier thread:
President Trump is a dealmaker. He would have made sure a deal was LOCKED DOWN with all sides to avoid this chaos BEFORE he pulled the trigger on a withdrawl. He would NOT have left billions of dollars of our equipment over there to be used against us all over the world. And he would have seen to it that any violation of the agreement by any of the parties involved would result in swift and strong reprisal.
We had the most famous American dealmaker of the 20th and 21st centuries in the White House, working for US and for free.
What we have now is unmitigated disaster.

No, it’s all “blame it on the Afghanis.”
Trump had worked out a settlement in 2020, after we had spent some months blasting the Taliban almost out of existence, and we were going to leave this May of 2021...but only if the agreements were honored and the Taliban did not try to take over the country but simply accepted being a political party in it. Any breach would be met with the use of force, the same US force that had brought the Taliban to the negotiating table.
Biden discarded this immediately. Supposedly Trump had left a plan for him and Biden literally threw it out.
