There was a time when churches in America provided the primary means of education. They were the temples of morals and education. Then the push for public education occurred and over time, their role of educator was replaced by the public school.
This new configuration was further changed when the left pushed objective morality out of the education system. Everything became subjective and relative. Now the moral basis of right and wrong, of freedom and the will to protect individual liberties has also been pushed out of the schools.
