The Tucson City Council voted Friday to require city employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Friday, in an emergency meeting, Mayor and Council in a 6-1 vote passed the ordinance that now requires employees to provide proof of at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot by Aug. 24. The measure includes a five-day suspension for city employees who do not comply; however, there are religious and medical exemptions to the ordinance.

“The ACLU has been conspicuous by their silence since the PLANdemic started.”

You got that one right.

I’m up against an employer mandate and expect to be fired by September 30th unless Gavin Newsom is ousted and Larry Elder ends the state of emergency that enables the mandates.

But no matter the job I will not get the Zero Population shot.

I know I have dark humor—but I am going to laugh out loud when the ACLU requires mandatory vaxxes for its employees!

Lots of places in Tucson are violating state law with mandates, including the two largest Hospitals in town. But, nobody is enforcing that law, so what good did it do?

If you are fired, you neither have cause for action, nor can you get unemployment

Employers don’t administer shots. Nurses do. And if you don’t sign the docs for the shots, you are terminated.

They will say “clear out your desk, security will see you out”. It seems like many on this site have never dealt with HR

really. so if they “fire” you or suspend you because you refuse to get a shot you can’t get unemployment? find that extremely hard to believe. but ok. maybe you’re some kind of employment lawyer. i’m not.

No. You only get unemployment if you are laid off

That’s correct. I manage project in multiple states, and lay off workforces when they are complete. Layoffs get unemployment. Voluntary quits or termination for cause do not.

ok. what if the “cause” for firing is a violation of law? can’t you take that to court?

Sure. Then they fire you, and you don’t get unemployment, lol. There is no way to avaoid the employer mandates now. When my company of 5000 people made the requirement in April, around 50 people left. No lawsuits against employers are holding up.

It hasn’t been found to be in violation of the law in any case, so you lose. All employers sued thus far won the case.

When my company mandated in April. They maintained 98-99% of their employees. Everyone else got an exemption (pregnant), or the shot. A few people got sick for a couple days, and that was that.

ok well now we’re down to your opinion about case law.

if they grant exemptions. fine. that means it’s really not a mask mandate. and with that i’m moving on.
