WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge is refusing landlords’ request to put the Biden administration’s new eviction moratorium on hold, though she made clear she thinks it’s illegal.
U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich on Friday said her “hands are tied” by an appellate ruling the last time courts considered the evictions moratorium in the spring. [snip]
In late June, the high court refused by a 5-4 vote to allow evictions to resume. Justice Brett Kavanaugh, part of the slim majority, said he agreed with Friedrich, but was voting to keep the moratorium in place because it was set to expire at the end of July.
Kavanaugh said then that he would reject any additional extension without clear authorization from Congress, which has not been able to take action.
In discussing the new moratorium last week, President Joe Biden acknowledged there were questions about its legality, but said a court fight over the new CDC order would buy time for the distribution of some of the $45 billion in rental assistance that has been approved but not yet used.

Question: If a judges job is to determine the legality of a thing, and they think a thing is illegal, how do they justify supporting its continuance.

The courts are participating the the communist overthrow of America. There really is no one left in a position of power to defend the rights of We the People.

I’m not looking to make any excuses for Trump, but I think McConnell is the one that picked all of these fruit loop judges. The turtle would have NEVER allowed anyone else but his chosen ones come up for nomination.
Are these judges being threatened with physical harm to either them and/or their families?
It wouldn’t surprise me seeing who the thugs are that are currently in control of this country. Both the over and covert ones behind the scenes.
It’s no moratorium, it’s an illegal action for which the person who gave the order should be prosecuted.

SCROTUS ALREADY RULED the CDC has ZERO authority to enact eviction moratoriums.
When Presidents and agencies OPENLY DEFY the ruling of the HIGHEST COURT IN OUR LAND AND GET AWAY WITH IT, WE NO LONGER HAVE A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.
There are MANY ways in which America is DEAD, this is just ONE of them.

The law of unintended consequences says the result of this never ending rent moratorium will be *fewer* but more expensive rentals.
It would be pointless of her to ignore the authority of the higher court.
Even Trump can make a mistake?!
He made a lot of them. Nothing against the guy, he gave it his best, but he is fallible. This is a long war we’re in, there are no saviors.
