Families protest mask mandate for students in Boulder County . [ Colorado ]

Protesters gathered at Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) to make a statement against requiring masks in county schools.

"I think kids have lost probably the most in these last couple of years and I think we've put the burden of responsibility on them," Allison Stransky, parent and protester, said.

BCPH issued a public health order late Monday night that requires facial coverings in schools PK-12 and childcare settings.

Public health officials said they would meet with the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) on Tuesday to discuss a decision on whether masks will be required in schools before classes start next week.

"I think we need to remember we send them to school for an education. Going to school masked and in a lot of discomfort is making it hard for them to learn," Stransky said. "They’re already so behind this year, so I think we need to kind of allow parents to make the choice that feels best for their families."

BCPH did not want to comment and neither did the BVSD since these issues are coming up in their meetings.

The protest was organized by a group called "Boulder Stand Up" who said protesters will be at the BVSD headquarters Tuesday night in conjunction with the school board meeting.

Stransky believes masks are not the answer for kids.

"I think that as much as we tried to stop the spread, it’s still spreading and at a certain point, we have to say we’re gonna protect the vulnerable people," Stransky said. "We’re going to make smart choices for our families, but we have to let the kids be kids."

4) meant to provide constant reinforcement of fear
5) used to destroy community, friends and family normal communication
6) implemented to create isolation, confusion, anxiety, destroy human connectivity, trust and interactions
7) mandated to exacerbate illness
8) intended to aid in the abandonment of the belief and reliance on our immune systems
9) intended to refute integrous science
10) signal to positions of power that you are willing to give up all of your rights and freedoms based on anything they say, even if it is a BIG FAT LIE!

I don’t know exactly how they plan to “protect the vulnerable people,” but Boulder is ultra-liberal and if even they are finally beginning to protest against the masks, that’s a good thing.

Arguably the vulnerable have been “vaccinated”, so the mask rationale is bogus — and cruel.

Possibly. I was more worried about the “vulnerable persons removal” that appeared on the CDC website.

Most of the “vulnerable,” such as very elderly people, have already been vaccinated, so I didn’t think he was referring to that.

It’s all about a visible sign of submission. We all know that masks don’t work to prevent the spread of a virus, that vaccinated, “already had it,” and non-symptomatic people are not giving it to anybody anyway, that it doesn’t affect children, and that the mask is simply a sign that you are doing what the government tells you, no matter how irrational.

If the government told these people that henceforth they could never let their feet touch the ground, they’d be dragging themselves along on the ground by their elbows. But masks are easier.

Colorado Deaths by Age

* means "suppressed value" which means less than 10 which means, I guess, the CDC doesn't count them.

In Colorado almost no one 24 years or younger has died.

According to Statista, as of Aug. 4, '21, there have been a total of 349 deaths in the entire U.S. of people 17 yrs old and younger. In the 18-29 age range a total of 2,519 people have died nation wide.

If you are 70+ yrs old CV-19 is definitely (somewhat) more deadly than the seasonal flu. If you are under 18 CV-19 is nowhere near as deadly as the seasonal flu.

While any death in a child from a vaccine preventable illness is a tragedy, the number of pediatric flu deaths reported to CDC each season is likely an undercount. For example, even though the reported number of deaths during the 2017-2018 flu season was 188, CDC estimates the actual number was closer to 600. It is likely the actual number of children who died from flu during the 2019-2020 season is higher as well.
