After Infrastructure Surrender, Republicans Deserve to Lose
National Review ^ | 8/9/2021 | Philip Klein

Republicans have helped put President Biden several steps closer to passing...an unnecessary and costly infrastructure bill that will pave the way for Democrats to pass their multi-trillion dollar social agenda. This is a pathetic surrender that has been built on a mountain of lies.

Republicans who voted for this monstrosity claimed that the infrastructure bill they negotiated would be fully paid for. It isn’t. They claimed it would narrowly focus on traditional infrastructure such as fixing roads and bridges. It doesn’t. They claimed it would help convince moderate Democrats to abandon Biden’s larger bill. It won’t.

They were “walking dead men”, politically speaking, when they stabbed Trump in the back. They just don’t know it.....at least not yet.
Karma can be a terrible thing.

Who is worse, the known enemy who seeks your defeat, or the one who tells you they’re your guardian and yet covertly works to kill you?

Yeah, just surrender to the socialists, I guess we have lost the will to fight and should all just become communists.

Good grief, the only thing that should be lost is their primary.

I have heard that the $3.5 trillion bill yet to come, will be passed via “reconciliation”, which avoids the possibility of a filibuster in the Senate. Someone who knows better, please tell us if that’s true.

I have also heard that the Senate parliamentarian, had told Chuck Schumer that “reconciliation” can only be used in certain specific circumstances, and apparently Chuck was working with said parliamentarian, to ensure that the structure of the $3.5 trillion bill qualified for “reconciliation”.

In which case, we are all dependent on Sinema and Joe Manchin, the only Democrats who have expressed any doubts about these titanic spending bills.

What a bizarre situation, that we conservative citizens, have to hope and pray about how Democrats Sinema and Manchin vote on pending legislation.

Judas goat representation is what the GOP delivers to conservatives.

there are big things going on with the $3.5 trillion package. The one that jumps out at me is the change of the start of Medicare coverage from the current 65 yrs old down to 60 yrs old.

There are lots of people who do not retire before 65 because they can’t afford to lose their company’s health coverage until they qualify for Medicare. Reduce the age to 60 and a lot of people in that age range will suddenly decide to retire early.

Assistant Democrats do what they do. This is the GOPs job. Enabling while feigning dissent.

‘Almost! Next time we’ll do it! Send me money!’

The big lie is that the two bills are not connected. Apparently passing the first bill makes reconciliation possible on the second. That in turn is the Triumph of Communism in America. They have all kinds of horrible in this Pandora box of a bill and I bet Nationalizing Elections is one of them.

With the cost of everything they won’t be able to retire!! I retired because I was doing so well under Trump, NOW I have gone back to working part time and it is going to get worse all this does is release BIG corporations of providing healthcare insurance for workers at the age of 60 it does NOTHING for the people!!

If that is true regarding Medicare, then Katie bar the door. There will be massive retirements instantly and almost automatically at 62 for everyone forthcoming. Hard not to imagine this wouldn’t lead to a significant national structural workforce change.

The Republicans who voted for this nonsense must be made to suffer.

Just hogs at the trough. Grabbing what they can while the getting is good, even though the money is now worth less due to printing presses at full speed.

EVERY ONE of the Bush League Republicans that assisted the Democrats needs to be primaried.
If they survive the primary, DO NOT vote to re-elect them.

"I have heard that the $3.5 trillion bill yet to come, will be passed via “reconciliation”, which avoids the possibility of a filibuster in the Senate. Someone who knows better, please tell us if that’s true."

The theory is that passing this bill bought off enough Democrats that the 3.5 billion won't pass. Only need one democrat to oppose it. I'm highly skeptical, but if reconciliation is blocked, at least there is a pragmatic argument for this vote.

Wrong — the ones who surrendered deserve to lose. The complainers need to respond by opening their wallets during primary season, rather than by pronouncing judgment on all Republicans.

Just remember please that it is a minority of Republicans who voted to let this bill pass. A shrinking minority.

Support Trump. Support MAGA Republicans in the upcoming primaries. Become active locally, starting with school committees. VOTE. Staying home is only punishing yourself.

The Republican establishment wing of the party must lose. But, letting Democrats retain control of Congress isn’t an option.

You haven’t seen anything yet. The next one is a repulsive piece of crap. In fact, if this was the only one, I’d be ok with it as we do need up fix our bridges especially. But the next one is a gut punch that will change everything from voting to climate change to a host of liberal goodies. Ugly and they only need 50 votes.

Funny how well Republicans can work with a Democrat president, but not a Republican one.
