On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) stated that by embracing “using growth projections to pay for some portions of the bipartisan bill,” Republicans have given Democrats a tool to argue the reconciliation bill is paid for.
Kaine said, “I want to pay for this bill. Now, just remember, Garrett, there [are] a couple of different ways you can pay for a bill like this. So, first, is you raise revenues. And the Finance Committee is given the instruction that basically says, raise at least, I think it’s a billion dollars, and they’ll likely do that through things like the adjustment of the corporate tax rate. Remember, the Trump administration and the GOP majority dropped the corporate tax rate in one swoop from 35 to 21.

Oh, I think the Republicans know this is all BS. They don’t care. They want spending as much as the Democrats do, and it is really the voters’ fault. We keep electing them, and the big donors keep buying their votes.
The proposed taxes and fees in these spending bills never bring in what they claim they will. People adjust their behavior to avoid paying more in taxes. Nobody just stands there and gets fleeced. Hypocrite leftists always move their money around (Barbara Streisand, for example) to avoid paying the higher taxes they claim to support.
It’s always the middle class that is screwed.

Spot on. The GOPe knows many (most?) GOP voters are weak and will stupidly reelect those who do not represent them. They are only going to get worse with Trump giving them GOTV top cover for the midterms, IMO.
If the GOP was facing a mass exodus of GOP voters to a third party they never would be assisting Democrats on this bill. But with Trump holding down the GOP base for China Mitch they are free to have a beltway party with their Democrat friends.
EVERY ONE of the Assistant Democrats voting to assist the Democrats with the Trojan horse infrastructure bill KNOWS they are paving the way for the country killing reconciliation.
What’s the point of electing Assistant Democrats?
In the bill, they use money from the last stimulus bill that is unspent, such as unemployment benefits. They are just carrying forward the debt and calling it paid for.
