Not much of a fan. Mark Steyn was much better. Closer to the Rush paradigm

I try to listen when I can, but I don’t have an opinion on them. I think talk radio is dying, since we have podcasting.

INSPIRED BY RUSH AND CONNECTING WITH LISTENERS

Clay Travis and Buck Sexton host The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, a new three-hour talk radio program that launched on June 21, 2021 on hundreds of radio stations nationwide.

The duo broadcasts Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET – the legendary timeslot held by “The Rush Limbaugh Show” for more than three decades.

Each day on the program, Travis and Sexton carry on a new form of broadcast excellence in the tradition of the late radio icon as they tackle the biggest stories in news, politics and current events with intelligence and humor.

Together, they guide listeners through the latest headlines and hot topics with fun and entertaining conversations and opinions.

Some replays of broadcasts available here.

Rush was always thought provoking and found a silver lining in bad news. I find these guys boring, Mark Steyn or Bongino are a better listen, in my opinion.

Rush was a smart man and he knew when to talk and when to let the smart people in his audience talk. Clay and Buck are smart, but they need to take more phone calls from smart people.

They’re like sports broadcasters...they never shut up. They even voice most of the commercials. They don’t allow their callers to make their points the way Rush did. Not only are they not a good “replacement” for Rush (as if), they aren’t even very good substitutes.

Steyn would be much better, but for whatever reason I guess he didn’t want the job, or perhaps it wasn’t even offered.

I've listened to them a bit...I can't say I was extremely impressed. Does anyone know how their ratings have been? I know that at least a few stations have dropped Rush's show in the last year or so.

I have tried to listen but always start yelling at the radio. They are off Rush’s message. I miss Rush something terrible.

For those who loved Rush, there's a 12 part Podcast 'Rush Limbaugh'-The man behind the microphone' that Bo Snerdly/James Golden uploaded on IHeart which is also available on Rushlimbaugh.com. Well worth the listen.

Like everybody else, I miss Rush. I find myself pulling up old shows on youtube just to hear his voice. I let my membership lapse at the 24/7. No one will ever step in and fill his shoes and that's what these new people did 'step in'. They may be just fine but I'm used to excellence and no one can hit it out of the park like Rush could.

Hard to believe we had him for 33 years; it went by in a flash. Anyway, if you haven't heard the 12 part series, I highly recommend it.
