My thought is when someone breaks the laws of the land, it is the duty of those entrusted with maintaining those laws to honor their oaths of office.

In cases like this one, when those entrusted refuse to protect the citizenry or are not present, the responsibility falls to the citizenry who are present or who've made themselves available for just such danger out of foresight.

An enlightened citizenry is indispensable for the proper functioning of a republic. Self-government is not possible unless the citizens are educated sufficiently to enable them to exercise oversight. It is therefore imperative that the nation see to it that a suitable education be provided for all its citizens. At this point, this kind of argument is useless. Worrying about optics and public sentiment is only worthwhile when we still have a sane society filled with moral people. When the commies have control, they will simply keep beating us down until there is nothing left. They won't stop just because we didn't give them the satisfaction of fighting back.

If these antifa and others like them got gunned down in the street, the commies would most assuredly use that as an excuse to roll in even heavier thugs, but that is GOING TO HAPPEN ANYWAY. Might as well get it started.

Does anyone know what this prayer meeting was about, and how Antifa even knew about it, or why they decided to intervene? And did I hear someone say that the PREACHER was arrested? If so, for what?

For a guy from Seattle, you don't appear to know a damn thing about Portland. Let me help you out:

1) The prayer was most likely about just resisting all the left-wing evil in Portland. Patriot Prayer, Proud Boys, and other groups all do the same, mostly for the purpose of not ceding the city to evil

2) Portland isn't that big. Antifa knew about it because Antifa knows about everything that goes on. They literally have spies everywhere, and most likely one of them saw a web forum post or a flier or some such thing and told his buddies all about it.

3) The preacher was most likely arrested because the Portland police are governed by left-wing nutbags and, quite frankly, contain a number of left-wing nutbags. And by that, I mean full on purple-haired tatted-up SJW LGBT freaks. They arrested the preacher because Antifa is welcome but Christians or anyone opposing them are not.
