...and the disciples said "look here are two swords!" And Jesus answered..." It is enough."

Then Simon Peter drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. "Put your sword back in its sheath!" Jesus said to Peter. "Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given Me?"

Jesus first came as a lamb. He returns as the Lion.

Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

My thought is when someone breaks the laws of the land, it is the duty of those entrusted with maintaining those laws to honor their oaths of office.

In cases like this one, when those entrusted refuse to protect the citizenry or are not present, the responsibility falls to the citizenry who are present or who've made themselves available for just such danger out of foresight.

An enlightened citizenry is indispensable for the proper functioning of a republic. Self-government is not possible unless the citizens are educated sufficiently to enable them to exercise oversight. It is therefore imperative that the nation see to it that a suitable education be provided for all its citizens. It should be noted, that when Jefferson speaks of "science," he is often referring to knowledge or learning in general.

In plain language, WE don't have to stand for this BS, as a city, town, or nation!
