Impacts of California drought, water woes threaten energy, agriculture
Fox News ^ | Aug. 7, 2021 | Julia Musto

California is seeing the effects of the West's historic "megadrought," which has cut off critical water resources in multiple states.

As heat waves continue to threaten communities, the state has been forced to scrutinize the way it distributes the water that's still accessible.

The consequences of pure socialist, greenie stupidity. Only about two years ago the rains and ice melt runoff were so heavy that the Oroville Dam was in serious danger of collapsing. Where, oh where did all that beautiful water go to???

California: Where the politicians are corrupt, and the bureaucrats are incompetent.

Imagine if instead of building high speed rail they’d instead built reservoirs?

Of course, if the voters are not in pain, you have no power over them.

“The plant can produce enough power for 80,000 homes and businesses. Hydropower provides around 15% of California’s electricity.”

No big deal. Just crank up more windmills and solar cells.

Imagine how fine the state would be if we didn’t spend hundreds of billions of dollars on illegal invaders! The train is small peanuts compared to that perpetual money sucking machine.

We’ll probably have a wet winter. I’ve seen this movie before.

• The state grew from 15 million people to 39 million people and added hardly any new infrastructure.
• All the infrastructure built during the golden years is 40 to 70 years old now and largely worn out.
• Windmills and solar cells are intermittent sources of power. No wind + No sun = No power.
• Every last one of the huge, reliable nuclear power plants has been shut down (well, Diablo Canyon is in the shut-down process right now - it goes off in 2025 when its operating license expires).

Nobody could see this coming? Politicians, voters, and communists keep hoping their fever dreams will come true.

Perhaps the problem will be self-correcting when the population goes back down to 15 million.

There is more water than anyone can imagine just west of the state.

Got to save them fish though.

Let it burn, all of it.

Yeah right blame it on ‘human caused climate change’. More like human caused stupidity in deficient planning or lack thereof. California should be constructing more and deeper reservoirs, desalination water treatment plants and clearing forests of overgrowth brush. The unwise leftards in Sacto are too busy laying down their insidious rules and regulations but no real solutions in place to effectively prepare/manage periods of drought and forest fires. There’s the ‘human caused disaster’ in reality.

California: Where the politicians are corrupt, and the bureaucrats are incompetent.

California is also where the fires are, shall we say, very suspicious.

As, I’m sure, you must already know, California isn’t the only state in the Union with corrupt, amoral, self-serving, power-crazed Marxist vermin who deserve Wild West justice before entering Hell for eternity.

Sounds like the impact to agriculture will worsen the Bidinflation in America.

And didn’t they dump water out of one reservoir while during their continuing drought?

Biden said we’re going to have 50% electric cars in 8 years. No electricity, no travel.

Sounds like this is the right time for Gov Newsome to call for the destruction of the Oroville dam and power plant in the name of “Greenness & back to nature.” Thus returning the man-made lake to its original natural function as a stream through the mountains and possible habitat for “endangered” fish species.

Yet if you buy some brands of bottled water it says from natural springs in California. They ship and sell their own water bottle by bottle...dumb

Demos made a deal with treehuggers ages ago to not build any more water storage infrastructure. Any water lost anywhere goes right out to Pacific.
In a similar deal, they agreed to discontinue forest management practices that had stopped rampant fires for decades. See Dixie fire.
