There are so many simple questions that are being raised around Covid-19 and the supposed need for different policies at this moment, and no one is capable of explaining them to you.
Why is that?
Despite the fact that they claimed the previous administration refused to follow the science—and were proven wrong—they now find themselves in the odd position of desperately embracing solutions they actually campaigned against - HARD!
They do so while dishonestly mischaracterizing even the current challenge. With the media’s help they are getting away with these fake science assumptions.
Don’t believe me? Try these on for size: the unvaccinated and breakthrough cases.
We are continually told that we are in a resurgent pandemic because of “the unvaccinated.” Yet this isn’t anywhere near being true. We know it is because natural immunity is working.
Ask yourself, do you personally know of any single person who has gotten Covid-19, fully recovered, and gotten it a second time?
In October of 2020 the CDC announced that it anticipated that those who had previously been infected could likely contract Covid-19 a second time. Yet by February of 2021 (more than a full year since it had hit American shores) the CDC could account for less than 60 cases of people who had previously had Covid-19, contracting it “again.” And I say “again” because they also seem to be unable to distinguish between a second contracting of the virus and whether or not how many of those cases might have been “long Covid” where symptoms lingered.
This all adds up to the role of natural immunity effectively working. The current blips in rising infection numbers isn’t a pandemic of the unvaccinated—being vaccinated isn’t the point. It’s a “crisis” of the non-immune—with two large groups of people being protected: the post infected and the 160+ million people who have been vaccinated.
But in order to control you and mask up your kids this fall they have to scare even the protected amongst us. Hence the term we started seeing everywhere a couple of weeks ago: breakthrough infections.
So let’s break that down. Out of the 35 million Americans who have contracted Covid-19, we know that among reported cases 34.4 million survived. Let’s roughly assume that at minimum half of those have been vaccinated and are among the 165 million Americans who have been at minimum partially vaccinated. Add the remaining 17 million to the vaccinated number and you’re closing in on 190 million Americans with some level of immunity. Of those 190 million there have been roughly 5600 “breakthrough cases” of hospitalized individuals as of the end of July, while 27 percent (1,500) were asymptomatic and not hospitalized due to Covid-19. Of the same 190 million Americans, 1,141 of those “breakthrough cases” ended up being fatal. But 26 percent of those (296) were asymptomatic and those deaths were unrelated to Covid-19. Of the 844 “breakthrough case” fatalities the CDC has distinguished between Covid-19 being the primary cause of death or whether it was a contributing factor to a person who had other more dominant underlying conditions. In other words, 844 deaths out of 190,000,000 protected persons = .000004%.
But no one is telling you these facts.
New infection rates are relatively meaningless. With the best therapeutics on the globe, and three vaccines that are turning out to be maybe the most effective vaccines ever created, your personal physician has more tools and knowledge to help an average person face a virus that is being survived by better than 98.9% of people who contract it.
This week, one of the fear porn governors who is agreeing to play along in this charade—Phil Murphy of New Jersey—saw four deaths in his state in which Covid-19 was present at the time of death. On an average day his state has two people die in auto related accidents, and 49 die from cancer.
Yet his decision has been to mask children in classrooms this coming school year. He does so even though children are less likely to contract and spread Covid than fully vaccinated adults. Yet he refuses to expect his teachers across the state to get vaccines if they are worried about the virus.
This is not right.
The fallout for this fake science fear porn must be a clear message to the Democrats and the administration.
They are using you. But only if you allow it.
