Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib is pushing for legislation that would let people who fail to pay their water, electricity or broadband bills off the hook.
"Cancel water, electricity and broadband debt," the Squad member tweeted Wednesday morning. "#StopTheShutoffs."
She changed her messaging Thursday afternoon – calling for a bailout instead of outright cancellation.
"No one should live without water and critical services," she tweeted Thursday. "Congress bailed out the banks in 2008 when it was their own wrongdoing. There should be NO hesitation in bailing out people who, due to no fault of their own, are experiencing the impacts of a pandemic. #StoptheShutOffs"

How will the people who supply these services live if their employer cannot pay them? There are usually assistance programs for poor people, but in this case it appears one could simply decide not to pay regardless of one’s income.
This is ZERO concern for Fed.gov
Federalism and state/local rights need to be restored in a big way, urgently.

Biden & D’s are implementing socialism using COVID as a backdrop. Pay people to not work, so employers have to pay far higher than minimum wage - it sidesteps Congress and penalizes entrepreneurs in favor of overpaying the employees. Enable people to not pay rent - penalize landlords.
Now AOC wants more things for free. They’re going to destroy everything that made this country great. Why start a small business in such a climate? Do these idiots really think that it can be sustainable? It’s not about tearing down the USA and replace it with something else - they’re implementing everything they want anyway, all using COVID as an excuse.

That’s the natural consequence of forcing owners to provide free rent. Who pays? Anybody who is actually working.
Why stop there? Hell, give everybody a new Lexus, a house with a pool, and a private jet to boot.
We have the smart grid, right? So how about 2 hours of electric a day? And roll the internet speed back to dial-up, so no porn, no movie streaming, and no social media.
Then under the equal protection clause nobody has to pay their bills?
Keep the Lexus. I’ll take Mustang GT 350. As long as the government pays the speeding tickets.
