Imperfect Vaccination Can Enhance the Transmission of Highly Virulent Pathogens

Could some vaccines drive the evolution of more virulent pathogens? Conventional wisdom is that natural selection will remove highly lethal pathogens if host death greatly reduces transmission. Vaccines that keep hosts alive but still allow transmission could thus allow very virulent strains to circulate in a population. Here we show experimentally that immunization of chickens against Marek's disease virus enhances the fitness of more virulent strains, making it possible for hyperpathogenic strains to transmit. Immunity elicited by direct vaccination or by maternal vaccination prolongs host survival but does not prevent infection, viral replication or transmission, thus extending the infectious periods of strains otherwise too lethal to persist. Our data show that anti-disease vaccines that do not prevent transmission can create conditions that promote the emergence of pathogen strains that cause more severe disease in unvaccinated hosts.

Deadlier variants are bred out of implementation of 'leaky' vaccines. Leaky vaccines are those that offer some protection from disease but still allow for the vaccinated to be infected and spread the disease. The current Covid-19 vaccines are leaky vaccines, young vaccinated individuals will likely be the source of more deadly varriants.

If you need a break from talk about "variants", how about some "variations":

given this vaccine doesnt actually get your body to kill the virus we know this is occurring

doesnt stop getting infected and doesnt stop transmission

this is goong to go down as one of the biggest medical disasters in history

Oh, goody. The shot might have turned me into an enhanced disease vector. Another good reason not to get boosters until the FDA approves, I guess.

Coronavirus PING!

Has this actually happened with any other virus vaccine? Proponents of this theory should either give us the data or stop inventing a new fear just for the COVID vaccine.

Well, that sounds too soon. I thought it would be a few years, after further tests and improvements.

Is the FDA too illiterate to look at the VAERS reports?

Why is FDA approval relevant? You don't think the FDA would, if they could, immediately approve the current vaccines or the boosters to them? FDA approval is a formality, Covid means there is no rules.

To: MMaschin; null and void

FDA usually determines whether to approve or not after years of tests, as far as I know. If null and void is right (above reply to me), however, this particular speedy approval will be essentially meaningless.

It's not even vaguely a medical decision.

BTW, The Pentagon can't wait until the end of the month, they've announced they are going to wipe out vaccinate all our men and women in uniform within next few weeks.

Just consider the demanding, mega-scale, reckless vax rollout while the therapeutics were marginalized, and zero consideration for the natural SARS decline.

How #ing braindead can the vax evangelists be?

Yes. This paper is based on a vaccine that was created for Marek's disease that effects chickens. Here is a link to a paper about it - This chicken vaccine makes its virus more dangerous.

I don't believe it has happened with a human vaccine, but human vaccines have, until now, always gone through sufficient testing to ensure that they are not 'leaky'.

These vaccines have been rushed and not sufficiently tested for the purposes they are using them. I believe they should have only been used for those at high risk of dying from Covid. To universally vaccinate the entire population including the more than 50% that is at near ZERO risk is beyond the pale asinine!

If null and void is right

Acording to Godzill's Threat Matrix today:

Wuhan virus - Reports are that the FDA has accelerated its timetable to fully approve Pfizer-BioNTech’s coronavirus vaccine, aiming to complete the process by the start of next month. Approval will create increased pressure on those avoiding the jab over it’s emergency authorization. But the rapid approval process, without the extensive long term effects studies may well be a sticking point for many....

...Reported by CNN and others, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is expected to seek authorization to make Covid-19 vaccines mandatory for all active duty troops as soon as this week, following President Joe Biden’s directive that the military examine how and when it could make that happen. Austin’s “inclination is towards making the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory” for active duty troops, a defense official told CNN. If the secretary makes that final recommendation, he could seek a presidential waiver to allow the vaccine to be administered to troops before full approval by the Food and Drug Administration. A Pentagon decision and recommendation on how to proceed could come this week, several officials say. Currently about 62% of the military is “fully” vaccinated.

Interesting timing on all fronts. Full FDA "approval" just as school starts...

Yes, it’s happened with H1N1 vaccines, Dengue fever, and the precursor coronavirus vaccines during the animal testing... nobody is “inventing” this just to scare you.

They’re bypassing phase IV testing entirely it seems, so we’ll have no clue about long term effects until they hit us like a tsunami.

Or, I guess you could say the general public IS the phase IV test.
