Spirit Airlines canceled almost half of its flights on Thursday, continuing its series of flight cancellations into a fifth day.
Flight tracker FlightAware showed 381 flights canceled by Spirit Airlines before 10 a.m. on Thursday, with 48 percent of flights for the day already canceled, USA Today reported.
It is the fifth day Spirit Airlines has struggled with flight cancellations as more than 50 percent of flights were canceled Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Around 42 percent of flights were canceled Monday.

Big time HIDING going on here.
Either unions, or govt mandates.
No truth yet.
Not how you gain repeat customers.
I’m still confused why Spirit doesn’t serve Colt 45 beer and Kool brand cigarettes to their high mileage fliers.
I wonder what the minority status of the employees for Spirit is? That may be a tell.
Jet Blue is doing similar cancellations.
Yes, this is a rather fishy story...I suspect more going on than lack of staff.
American cancelled flight from OIA...
Is this due to those reported shortages of jet fuel? Eco airlines probably don’t have long term contracts.
We paid for reservations long before flight date.spirit never even bothered to call jr leave a message they were cancelling all flights. We were left stranded with our baggage at their closed airport gate. Nobody to even help us. A neighboring gate’s airline crew took pity on us abd the other jilted spirit patrons stick there — and offered to help find alternate flights for us. They found us one on a third airline but it cost us because they said spirit doesn’t pay forward or refund any collected ticket prices. Spirit never did refund us or even return our calls or answer our letters. We will never ever again consider spirit. How they are permitted to remain in business is a mystery. They appear to be a total scam
Staffing has been a big problem since this COVID scam-demic; the media doesn’t know any more than anyone else about the problem. All they can do is throw out innuendo’s to see what sticks.
Rumor is a pilot strike.
Where is OIA?
Spirit Airlines is not worth the trouble on a good day. They do what they did to you all the time. Other airlines have their problems, but Spirit is in a class all by themselves.
I’ve heard they are having a big problem with a ground employee shortage right now in FLL.
The Hill has reached out to Spirit Airlines for comment.
Well, I can say first hand that Spirit cancelled a flight from New Orleans to Chicago on Monday, but it was due to weather because of a big storm. I know this because I was on a later flight with another airline that wasn’t cancelled but I talked to some of the people on the Spirit flight who were stuck in the airport.
We are flying to Brussels in September. The flight is advertised for 30 Euros each way. If you want to bring a suitcase and choose a seat it goes up to 130 Euros.
Sound like ransom ware that the Xiden Usurpation has declared a hands off attitude toward.
Can’t help thinking that there’s a Hunter connection.
Rumor is a pilot strike.

Why wouldn’t the pilots be contacting the media, or some representative for them putting out a press release?
That just seems odd.
