ALBANY, N.Y. — A majority of state Assembly members support beginning impeachment proceedings against Gov. Andrew Cuomo if he doesn’t resign over investigative findings that he sexually harassed at least 11 women, according to an Associated Press count Wednesday.
At least 86 of the body’s 150 members have said publicly or told The AP that they favored initiating the process of ousting the third-term Democratic governor if he doesn’t quit. It takes a simple majority to authorize an impeachment trial.
The tally reflects a governor plunged into a political deep freeze — a Democratic scion who has now lost most, if not all, of his allies in the party establishment, just a year after basking in national attention as a blunt-but-relatable voice of fighting the coronavirus.
Cuomo denies making any inappropriate sexual advances and insists the findings don’t reflect the facts. But while political pressure is growing, so is the potential for criminal charges against Cuomo.
District attorneys in Manhattan, suburban Westchester and Nassau counties and the state capital of Albany said they asked for investigative materials from the inquiry, overseen by Democratic state Attorney General Letitia James. The inquiry found that Cuomo — a former state AG himself — violated civil laws against sexual harassment, and it left the door open for local prosecutors to bring cases.
Joyce A. Smith, Nassau County’s acting district attorney, called the findings “deeply disturbing” and pledged her office would “thoroughly and expeditiously investigate.”
One of the governor’s closest allies, New York Democratic Party chairperson Jay Jacobs, declared that Cuomo “has lost his ability to govern, both practically and morally.” Jacobs told Spectrum News he had tried privately to persuade Cuomo to resign but “wasn’t making headway.”
Cuomo showed no signs of heeding such messages. He said some episodes described in the report never happened, others were misconstrued or mischaracterized and the whole exercise was tainted.
The sexual harassment charges? Pfft... He will walk on those charges. The nursing home scandal? He should rot at the end of a rope. Unfortunately most are ignoring the elephant in the room and he will not spend a single day behind bars.
They knew all of this last year when all the “Cuomosexuals” were out praising him to the gills.
Timing is everything. If Cuomo had resigned in the Spring, he would have been able to cut a deal with prosecutors and avoided criminal charges. Now with the severity of that report criminal indictments are inevitable. He would be very foolish to resign now. If he does he will lose whatever power and leverage he has left. However his impeachment, despite the public posturing by Democrats, is by no means certain. Cuomo and the Democrats are corrupt to the core. He did not operate alone or in a political or cultural vacuum. He knows what individuals did and got and where the bodies are buried. If these Democrats actually vote to impeach him, they know there is a likelyhood that Cuomo will reveal all about them. Its a high stakes game. Good chance he finishes his term. Might even avoid prison and sharing a cell with Harvey Weinstein.

Yep. They had to get rid of him and they could have gone for either the genocide or the sex thing. They decided that genocide would reflect badly on the party. The sex thing means they can take the moral high road and then indict Trump...or whoever next runs as a Republican candidate. It really doesn’t matter who runs, a hundred women will come forward. They’ve already filled out the affidavits except for the candidate’s name.

He should spend his remaining days behind bars for his murder of thousands of elderly nursing homes residents. Instead we get this foolish spectacle because of his habit of importuning adult women, women who should be perfectly able to defend themselves. Clearly we are no longer a thoughtful, moral people. Hell, we’re really no longer even a “nation.” Our chickification is nearly complete.
He’s running for reelection in 2022..................
Cuomo is a presidential threat who is not enough of a communist to satisfy the Politburo’s ambitions.
This will get Cuomo out of any future race for POTUS so the Politburo can run a party member in good standing.
A democratic NY senator said yesterday that if it goes to an impeachment trial, he will be forced to step down while the trial is going on. That’s the rule according to the NY state constitution. And they’re expecting it will happen in the next few weeks. So either way, he’ll be gone soon.

Unless one of the victims steps up to press charges this POS will not resign or be impeached. He’s a Democrat and is so far still protected.

I thought for a minute that the headline read, “Cuomo to be Impaled”. I blame wishful thinking combined with an insufficiency of coffee.
I am puzzled. Democrats such as Clinton and his scandels and most definitely Biden’s penchant for children have not affected them politically. Per Biden’s daughter’s diary she would shower with him as a child. The diary also said she “thought” something inappropriate happened. We have multiple episodes of Biden on record touching and hugging children in excess. On episode shows him pinching the nipple of a little girl.

Why are they throwing Coumo under the bus for actions far less egregious?
Cuomo is in the way of someone or something else.
His sexual indiscretions are nothing compared to the thousands that died in nursing homes due to his actions. He has medical advisors of talent. Why in the hell did he do this? He knew they would die!
I think he is just plain damn evil.
