Canada women's soccer will do no worse than silver after beating the U.S. women's national team in the Olympic semifinal round Monday.
In addition to being a monumental win, the victory also ensured that Olympic history will be made.
When midfielder Quinn took the field in Canada's Olympic opener against Japan, they became the first openly transgender athlete to compete in the Olympics. Now Quinn is the first transgender Olympian to secure a medal.

olympics has fallen...
Because they seized everyoneâs guns?
And it’s not the first the kneelers have lost to a guy, or guys. High school guys at that. So it pays to have men on women’s teams.
My understanding is that it is a she that identifies as a he.
So the real question is, if trans-females perform in female contests, why isn’t this person required to perform in male contests?
We all know why. Trans-females are just cheating, that is all it is.
“The lefty American womyn got beaten by a fake womanâlove it!
Chickens coming home to roost...”
I am also not disappointed by the fact that the Lefty freak is not a “breeder,” nor that the Canadian freak is, well, a freak who also cannot be a “breeder.” Best to let those genes for serious mental illness pass into history and not continue to propagate.
Iâm pretty sure that my life isnât guided by just one issue.
Iâm strictly talking about womenâs soccer.
I thought of that song as soon as I saw the headline. Is Quinn an Eskimo? Lots of Eskimos in Canada.
That's cool. But why Australia?
How many transgendered play in the NFL or NBA as the sex opposite of which they were born?
ZERO!!!!
The only way women’s sports will be salvaged is for the real women to just refuse to play against a man calling himself a woman.
Yep. That will take courage.
Thank you.
That is EXACTLY what this is.
Rebecca Quinn was born a biological woman, remains a biological woman, plays on a woman's team, and this team won a medal, regardless of what pronouns she chooses to use.
This is in no way newsworthy or historic by any measure other than Canada winning the medal.
No, she's a she that identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. It's all the rage amongst the kids these days (particularly girls).
