Florida hit a grim high on Sunday for the daily number of Coronavirus patients admitted to the hospital.
A total of 10,207 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Florida on Sunday, the highest number in the state one day after breaking its record for single-day new cases.
The Sunshine State now leads the nation in per-capita hospitalizations for the virus after averaging 1,525 adult hospitalizations per day and 35 pediatric hospitalizations per day over the past week, the Associated Press reported.
The previous record had been set on July 23, 2020, over a year ago, when Florida reported 10,170 hospitalizations.
The state’s hospitals were attempting to treat the overflow of patients.

This needs to be repeated OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
With their actions on the border, the govt has proven to everyone that COVID ISNT A BIG DEAL. The borders are wide open and the infected are being spread across the country with reckless abandon.
Every number about this virus is a lie.
There is also the very likely probability that they were admitted for other ailments and COVID was only discovered when they were tested as part of being admitted.
How sad that the journalist today lack the wisdom and curiosity to ask relevant questions. The rise in hospitalized cases begs answers to a lot of questions, none asked, and none answered. In addition to your questions, how many of the hospitalized patients had the jab?
How do they even know it is COVID? The CDC recalled the PCR test last week because it doesn’t work. How are they testing these people?
Odd? Not a word about how many of these people are DYING? which means THEY AREN’T DYING!
This fall squarely on DeSantis to immediately publish the stats on how many of these are US citizens, and of the remaining, how many are legal vs illegal.
YOU DO NOT LET YOUR POLITICAL ENEMIES run with lie due to omission hit pieces.
Even if true, Florida still leads the nation in freedom.
In contrast to the Biden administration’s desire to:
Chase ‘em down.
Hold ‘em down.
Shoot ‘em up (with an experimental vaccine).
I noticed something odd in reported covid statistics.
The NY Times runs a “covid dashboard” graph showing new cases and deaths for every state. You can Google covid dashboard and it will come up.
If you look at NY,NJ or CT you’ll see Thad cases have risen only a bit but that deaths have remained very low, between 1 and 7 deaths a day.
Just as interesting, even in the last spike of cases, back in January, cases sit up but deaths rose a much smaller percentage.
That’s all good news. Then if you look at Florida and Texas, but only are cases and deaths spiking together right now, but in the previous spike, deaths and cases both shot up at a similar rate.
The Northeast states don’t have mask mandates or lockdowns and haven’t for ninth, so that cannot explain the difference.
Either the data on covid deaths in Florida & Texas is false, or some other factor is resulting in much worse outcomes in those states. I doubt their health systems are inferior.
It could be unvaccinated illegals with covid, but I’m not sure even that would result in so many fatalities versus other populated states which also have unvaccinated folks.
The illegal does not even have to end up at the hospital.
All they have to do is spend the money Joe gave them at a Taco Bell.
