No one can recreate the Rush magic, but these guys seem decent so far. What is your problem with them?

“close minded “ ? WTF are you talking about. I look forward to the show almost as much as Rush, more than any other show each day, and they hit virtually all the hot issues everyday.
Rush too often left some things in his stack of stuff that I thought should have been mentioned.
I think they would be perfectly fine for a local talk show, but they should have offered Mark Steyn anything he wanted to take the slot. No one else comes close to matching Rush’s wit.

I agree that Steyn would have been a better choice. I also love the Redeye Radio guys. But I wish Clay and Buck well.
The show is great. Rush can never be replaced. They did a nice job creating something different but still interesting and entertaining. For those not into sports, Clay built a renegade sports network online and I radio to counter ESPN’s slide into idiocy and played a huge role in getting college football back last year. He’s a leader of men. Buck has been a great conservative voice for over a decade.
I find myself listening to most of the podcasts and re-upped my Rush27/4 to keep listening. They have good guests on and are a strong voice to counter what a going on. Losing Rush was essentially losing a family member. Still, we need a new generation of voices and these guys are putting on a better show than any competitors or old Rush subs (sans Mark Stein who is utterly brilliant).
Thank you. I agree with everything you said, but we do not get these guys locally, so I hear them when I’m travelling. But I do wish that my days had 3 extra hours, like yours! lol
I’ve been saying ever since Rush was diagnosed that no one will ever replace him, nor should anyone try.
In my opinion, the EIB network should have shut down and simply opened the airwaves to the hundreds of young talkers who are in Rush’s wake. Some will fail, some will win and a couple will likely rise to the top, joining the other couple tier one syndicated talkers.
That said, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton are good, but they are just talk show hosts. I don’t see them naturally rising to the top tier.
Rush was “search the dial” while traveling. So is Levin. Clay and Buck are listen if you hear them but that’s all.

That’s funny, I couldn’t stand Mark Steyn at all. His humor is well humorless.

Ha. That, I do not have, but I usually knock out about 1-2 shows during yard work and pick and choose a few other hours during the week driving or during work hours.
