Howdy, Kathy.
The tootsies are a little tired but not too bad. It wasn’t super-busy today but steady enough. I imagine the heat and some kept a lot of people inside this weekend. If not needing to head out to the museum, I wouldn’t have gone anywhere.
But there were folks who did brave the ugly elements and today’s visitors were especially fun.
Are your feather friends coming back to enjoy yummy dinners again?
A VERY nice person to know!
That brought a few tears, actually.
Welcome to the Canteen, redinIllinois, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and your.
Glad you enjoyed today’s story.

If you’ve read the book and watched the series Band of Brothers, then you already know who Dick Winters is. In this episode, we’re continuing our tour through the amazing private collection at the Gettysburg Museum of History (www.gettysburgmuseumofhistory.com) to see the personal items that belonged to Major Dick Winters. This is a one of a kind collection. There is no other. In addition, we see other items that belong to other Easy Company men such as Babe Heffron, Forrest Guth and Ron Speirs. Stunning items from beginning to end!

Howdy, luvie.
How’s your weekend going so far? Has your cool-down begun yet? Ours is SUPPOSED to start tomorrow and do we ever hope it does!
Hey there, radu! It’s all good here. Was darn hot today, but our cool down...with possible rain...starts tomorrow also. Fingers crossed for both of us. I’m DONE with heat. LOL!
Sounds like we get to cool off a little at the same time. I’m as ready as you are! The past two days have been ugly with the heat index around 105.
Nasty storms are moving through TN now and even though the line is still about 50 miles away, we can see the sky to the north flickering already. If they don’t calm down before they get here, it could be pretty wild in a couple of hours. They’re moving pretty fast.
That kind of heat makes a person not want to even move, much less get out! Were things good at the museum today?
I hope the storms bring you some nice rain. We’re supposed to get some tomorrow, but we all know how that works out. LOL!
I wouldn’t have walked out the door the past two days if it wasn’t for working at the museum. We were a little slower than most Saturdays so I reckon others felt the same way. We still had visitors and they were a lot of fun.
We should get a good dose of rain overnight. I don’t want the storms to be as wild as they were when they ripped through Nashville a little earlier but I wouldn’t mind a good thunderstorm. :-)
Sure would be nice if you get some rain out of this too!
I imagine the visitors today were as thankful for the AC as you guys have been. It truly would have been a sauna without that.
I can see lots of rain northwest of us, and with any luck it won’t all “melt” away before reaching us. Just the cooler air will be a treat! I hope your storms don’t get nasty. Don’t need that!
Yeah, if we didn’t have A/C throughout the building, the weekend would have been rough. We didn’t have it in the front room when the place opened.
Our rain has arrived. I drove the car out to the barn and stood at the edge of the field behind it to have a good, clear view of the light show, not that I could see anything more that flashes in the clouds, and got run back in a couple minutes ago. I heard what I hoped was a train coming but nope. It was wind I heard. It kicked up hard. It was starting to rain a little by the time I got back to the house.
I did get a little spooked by some lightning flashes to the west. They were blue. The last time I saw blue lightning like that, we were being hit by a tornado.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Yikes! Hope there aren’t any tornadoes in that blue lightning. That would NOT be good. Glad it’s raining, though, and I hope you get a goodly amount.
And I’d best be going. Darn it. But I’m not going to be worth anything in the morning if I don’t go to sleep soon. See ya tomorrow night!
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Has it cooled off enough to be able to take Gizmo to the lake for romps through tall grass and rolling in smelly spots? :-)
I hope there wasn’t a tornado, too, but if there was it wouldn’t have hit our area. Too far to the west. Still unsettling seeing lightning that color. It’s only the second time I’ve seen it.
Par for the course, the rain fizzled out quickly once it reached us and we didn’t get much. There’s still more rain coming this way and maybe we’ll get some of it. It would be great if it cleared some of the smoke we’ve been choking on.
Get a good night’s sleep so you don’t nod off at church in the morning. :-)
Well good. That makes three of us who are supposed to get a little relief today. I’d say we’re all ready for it!
Gizmo sure does look like he enjoyed the ride to Loco. A little something different to spice things up. :-)
The weather yesterday was magnificent, and Blue and I hit the road.
Wehit quite a few yard sales and I bought some cool stuff!:-)
