Progressive members of Congress pen letter urging Biden, CDC chief to act on expiring eviction ban
ABC News ^ | 31 Jul 2021 | Molly Nagle

The letter, first obtained by ABC News, urges action despite a SCOTUS ruling.

In a new letter to President Joe Biden and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, progressive members of Congress are calling for the CDC to "leverage every authority available to extend the eviction moratorium" after the House failed to take action Friday to extend the eviction ban set to expire Saturday at midnight.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., along with Reps. Cori Bush, D-Mo., Jimmy Gomez, D-Calif., Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., signed on to the letter, seen first by ABC News, urging the administration, which has said its hands are tied by a June Supreme Court ruling, to act....

...In their letter Saturday, the lawmakers said they will continue to work legislatively to address the expiring moratorium, as well as to get billions in previously approved funding out to help renters and landlords -- a process that has gotten off to a slow start....

another false flag issue - the House intentionally dragged their heels on disbursing covid funds to landlords to create an eviction issue, now the Commies want SCOTUS overturned today, this minute, because they stomped their high heels and pouted. All to gaslight the reality that those sent covid checks, sitting at home collecting unemployment, or those 'essential workers' being paid $4-$5 extra an hour 'hazard pay' in the grocery stores and fast food places and other 'essential' jobs, and those refusing to return to their jobs, didn't bother to pay their rent.

We cannot allow the Left to get away with substituting “progressive” for Socialist.

I believe the wishy washy American dimwit public might think twice about the real name. Although polls showed the name was not a strong turnoff like in past decades. Degenerate public.

Uh, they forgot to mention that this moratorium, first implemented by Trump, was found unconstitutional by the federal courts and a desist order was issued.

Evictions will proceed.

Finally.

Too bad for the landlord who gets foreclosed on because he can’t get rent and can’t evict. DC is a communist junta.

I'm sure Biden's government can procure some family size refrigerator boxes for the newly evicted. Green and recyclable, "tiny houses" are all the rage.

No need to pay your rent, only Republicans do that. No need to have a job, only Republicans work for their income. Very soon, the Democrats will be providing free drugs for all Democrats. Hang in there Democrats, more free stuff is on the way.

You would think they would be trying to get more jobs for the unemployed, not keeping them on welfare, unemployment food stamps. This speaks volumes of how much they really hate their constituents

They are “progressive”—leading humanity progressively over the cliff to certain annihilation.

Just print up another six trillion and buy all the rental properties from the owners. Then they can “act” any way they want.

I don’t know of any nurses or physicians getting hazard pay or their school loans forgiven.

.... They have created the crises in order to facillitate the formation of yet another ultra expensive Entitlement ....

.... My guess is that this is the First Salvo in the creation of a Socialist/Communist Style Housing economy in which Federal, State, and Local governments set such strict limits and controls on Rental Housing ... Such as ..... Financing ,Development, and Management ..... That .... in effect, government will own and operate most rental housing in the United States in the future.

Well, if you put it that way....

Like medical science uses the term "the progression of the disease." and "progressive joint damage."

Plank #1 of the Communist Manifesto: Abolition of private property rights.

All property now belongs to the central politburo who will decide on its equitable distribution.

After they get their dachas, of course.

The only act he should take is assisting landlords in evicting deadbeat tenants. One of my tenants owes me $36K, and I wish I could have just burned the house down 18 months ago,

That is one reason I always stayed away from owning rental property.

The rewards are there for sure, but the risks outweighed them in my view.
