STAR WARS China & Russia pose ‘daily threat’ from space with lasers and missiles to blast satellites, military chief warns

CHINA and Russia are posing a "daily threat" to the world from space with lasers and missiles ready to blast satellites out of the sky, a military chief has warned.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston said Moscow and Beijing are engaging in "dangerous activity" - such as flying satellites within "close proximity" of others - on a daily basis.

He warned future wars would be "won or lost in space" and said the UK are gathering intelligence on the "questionable" activity, The Telegraph reports.

Sir Mike said "reckless" behaviour from the two nations was seen "several times a year".

He said Russia has deployed satellites that "we would describe as having the characteristic of a weapon and they practised a manoeuvre, that we would say, could only have been done to deliberately destroy another satellite".

And China has continued to "develop anti-satellite technology, and that’s everything from missiles that directly target satellites, to laser dazzle weapons, to electronic jamming to physically ramming other satellites".

China is a serious threat to the US because greedy, utterly corrupt Bill Clinton sold them rocket technology they needed to be able to launch satellites ... and missiles. All to line his pockets. And here we are.

He is right. The China/Russia alliance is gearing up.

How do you steer a satellite?

Lol! My liberal teachers always laughed at Ronald Reagan for this.

Even as late as the 2000s.

I am sure they are fine with their Commie buddies militarizing space though.

Baloney. If it was such a threat they would never fire a high quality Officer like Lohmier for respectfully opposing communist indoctrination and reporting training that opposes the constitution he swore to uphold.

So there must not be a real threat. The whore-general just wants more money and power.

How do you steer a satellite?

Check out SpaceX news regarding flights of their Dragon capsules, particularly the unmanned cargo Dragon ships. They steer with cold gas thrusters, and are able to steer in orbit to rendezvous with the ISS space station and self-dock. Older capsules (Russian etc.), while having steering capability via thrusters, were controlled by astronauts in order to dock (or used the robotic arm to wrestle the capsule to the dock). The SpaceX Starlink satellites have cold thrusters to guide themselves into new orbits (or to de-orbit if needed).

Let me guess: The leaders of the United States did not develop these weapons because they did not want to weaponize space. We are too nice to do such a nasty thing.

This arena of discussion was soundly shouted down by those in Congress, some of whom are still in Congress today.

If it is so that China or Russia has a program of this nature, then I hold that those Congressional members be regarded as traitors.

Oh, by the way, Biden is one of those members.

I believe attacking our satellites would be a VIOLATION of international law, so we don’t have to worry about it.

Super Market tabloid stuff.

Now a North Korean satellite passing over the US could be trouble.

It’s OK. We’ve got Joe. He said he used to shoot down laser weapons when he was in the Air Force.

Who cares if Chiner and Roosia defeat “Britain” in space? Or anywhere else?

The so-called UK is a meaningless joke now - it will be predominantly Pakistani Muslim in a few decades. Without US help, they would be overrun in the first minutes of virtually any war with an Eastern European or Asian adversary.

If Mr. Big Bad Worthless General is worried about the mean old Russians, maybe he could contact Tommy Robinson and all his friends to do something about it? I’m sure the native British would be more then happy to help out the Fabian Socialists / Cultural Marxists of 10 Downing Street maintain their balkanized Khanate.

Like when hell freezes over.

What happened.....Bernard Schwartz of Loral Corporation donated big bucks to the Clinton campaign in 1992.

After Clinton won, China had trouble getting it’s weather and communications satellites into the proper orbit.

Loral wanted to sell the Chinese the software to make their satellites go where they were supposed to, and the Clinton Administration said yes. Not a peep from the perfumed princes in the so-called U.S. military.

That same software made the Chinese ICBMs more accurate as well. Damn the Clintons, and Loral Corporation, too.

“How do you steer a satellite?”

Satellites carry a very small amount of fuel and they have tiny steering rocket motors. As you can imagine, you don’t want to do too much maneuvering as it will exhaust your fuel. “Re-tasking” or steering a satellite might be done to catch your target unaware. If, for example, the target covers up every time you are overhead, you might change your orbit a smidge to arrive sooner, or later and catch a photo of the target with no covers. Another reason is to correct an orbit as the low orbits tend to decay due to interaction with the upper atmosphere, gravidic anomalies and solar wind.
