Up to 50,000 students, including some in the country illegally, could have their debt forgiven under the 'CUNY Comeback Program'
City University of New York announced this week that it is using federal coronavirus relief funds to wipe out up to $125 million in debt and unpaid fees for more than 50,000 students who were enrolled during the pandemic.
...Students who paid off all their tuition and fees during the pandemic are eligible for a $200 grant.

These aren’t taxpayer dollars. These are printed dollars from the Federal Reserve. If there is a silver lining it is that everyone in the US, including illegals and other foreign invaders, is getting destroyed financially by the increasingly worthless currency and the Bidinflation. Truly just rearranging deck chairs and lifeboat positions on the Titanic.

Student loans - Student loans are nothing but a wealth transfer scheme from the middle and lower class to the elite.
It is also a form of indentured servant.
So...the students getting degrees in gender studies, etc, will wind up paying exactly what their degree is worth? Zero?
Those loan dollars went to the Universities who obscenely ramped up the cost of education. Those same universities who sit on millions of dollars of endowments. Absolutely, if anyone forgives student loans it must be the offending universities who have ripped off both the US taxpayers and student.
In other words they are paying themselves with funds that were to go to the workers.
There should be a law that mandates Federal dollars allocated to a specific program are spent on the specific program exclusively. Second, mandate a sunset of the program funds- any surplus must be returned to the Federal Gov’t by a specific time. Third, a person admistering the funds and/or the State Governor is personally responsible for ensuring funds are managed as such, and subject to criminal prosecution. I’m good with capital punishment in that scenario.
As it stands, funds that were argued and voted into law seem to be used for any ourpose with no one accountable.
Back in the 70s, it was cheaper to send your kid to college than letting him live in the basement today.

The universities have used the bonanza of federal loan dollars to raise professor’s pay, add new socialistic programs and courses, and become centers of anti-American activity.
Is it true that they are only forgiving debt on degrees that are worthless i.e. “Studies Programs”?
If you have a degree in Black / Latino / Women / Transgender Studies; you get your money back.
However if you have a degree in any Math or Science you must pay for your degree.
Funds will be distributed to those whose voter registration has a “D” in the party affiliation line.
