Fried’s office oversees Florida’s licensing division, which issues the popular CWFLs.
“I just suspended the concealed weapons permits of 22 people involved in the insurrection against the United States of America instigated by Donald Trump on January 6, 2021,” Fried said in a tweet Tuesday. (Editor’s note: Florida issues a weapons license, not a permit.)
“The deeply disturbing events that occurred at our nation’s Capitol on January 6th were sedition, treason, and domestic terrorism – and those individuals involved in the insurrection must be held accountable for attempting to subvert our democratic process,” Fried said in a written statement. “Since charges began being filed, we are using our lawful authority to immediately suspend the licenses of 22 individuals involved in the storming of the U.S. Capitol. This is an ongoing effort, and as charges and sentences continue in the wake of this despicable attack, we will further suspend and revoke any additional licenses granted to insurrectionists.”

FL is a 'weak governor' type executive so its Cabinet is elected not appointed. Thus the Governor cannot ask for resignation except upon blatant corruption and then the State Senate has to confirm.
Secretary Fried is an announced 'D' candidate running against DeSantis for the 2022 race along with others including my favorite perpetual politician, former Governor Charlie Christ(Morgan&Morgan Shill).

This C word was put in office by the corrupt Broward/Palm Beach County vote counting machine headed by Brenda Snipes. That was the last election she stole before Ron DeSantis fired her and the corrupt Democrat woman running Palm Beach county.
Gosh, suddenly those two counties developed the ability to count in the last election. Suddenly it did not take them 3-4 days longer than the rest of the state to count the ballots. Suddenly trunkfulls of ballots massively favoring Democrats stopped being “discovered” days after the polls closed. Its a miracle!

I stopped reading right there. If I remember correctly, he was exonerated of that charge at his impeachment trial.

That surprised me too. It’s technically the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and also licenses private investigators, security companies and repo companies. Weird department combination.
I looked at a few states; they seem to process handgun permits either through their highway patrol/safety/homeland security department, the local sheriff’s office, or in the case of Georgia, the county probate court?
