'I was on the verge of tears. It was a lot of pressure': Simone Biles' teammates reveal the stress they felt having to fill her shoes following gymnast's shock exit from the Olympic team final

,,,,,McCallum, who was the first US athlete to compete on the uneven bars in the minutes after Biles told her teammates that she was pulling out of the final, confessed that she was left 'on the verge of tears' by the news - as well as the added pressure that was placed on her and the other two remaining Team USA athletes as a result.

'It was a lot of pressure, my heart was beating about a million miles an hour and I was on the verge of tears,' the gymnast shared. 'I just knew I had to do my gymnastics, nothing more, nothing less.'

In Biles' absence, two of her teammates were forced to step in and take her place in the uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise events, with Chiles taking on the first two, while Sunisa Lee, 18, filled her spot on the floor....

Biles' decision not to defend her Olympic all-around title in Thursday's final was announced on Wednesday morning in a statement shared by USA Gymnastics - however the gymnast has not yet revealed whether she plans to compete in the other four individual finals that she qualified for.

But But But

On Good Morning America this morning they said the team supported her decision, and previous medal winners and gymnasts said she did the brave thing, and it was more skillful and honest and supporting and . . . other cr*p to quit than continue.

If she felt that way then she should have pulled out earlier and allowed them to prepare mentally and get another girl to fill her spot time to practice.

If you don’t want to do this stuff, you dont agree to participate in six different events.

She should be free to do whatever she wants…but her decisions are making her teammates have to fill in, and…imagine if you were the person who was bumped from going to Tokyo because of Bile’s arrogance.

She is not a role model. She demonstrates selfishness.

Bravo. I’d like to see how many Olympic medals are dangling from the (flabby) necks of the haters, whose biggest sporting achievement is not failing gym.

Why should we? She wants to claim the title of “Greatest Ever” and be in the spotlight. Well, screw her. She’s in the spotlight now.

Also, she is NOT the “Greatest Ever”. Not even close. The title of Greatest Female Gymnast Ever is Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union. Three Olympics (1956, 1960, 1964), 14 individual Olympic medals and 4 team medals, 14 world championship medals including the All-Around title in 1958 while 4 months pregnant. She held the record for most Olympic gold medals from 1964 until 2016 when Michael Phelps broke the record. Now that’s a true champion.

Piss on Simone Biles. She’s a loser. And tell her that BLM can kiss my white butt.

she did. I dont buy her statement that its more stressful to be performing with a lot less eyes on her.

They do their day in and day out practicing with even less eyes on them, for years.

She played the mental health card so that she wouldn’t go down in the record books with so many scores she wasn’t happy with. And to claim mental health its to prevent people being critical of her.

And the simps here doing just that fall for it.

When I read this, I thought it was about Kinsinger and Hann, the people who were involved with the 1/6 fiasco.

I never saw so many men crying...and I hope never TO SEE THAT AGAIN.

Do they think this would attract more supporters.

It’s to laugh!!!!

The greatest of all time people do not quit when things start to go bad or tough for them.

Simone is not a greatest of all time person.

She is not the kind of person to go that “inch”. See Pacino’s inches speech in Any Given Sunday.

On any given sunday you are going to win or lose.

Biles is a quitter, striving to excuse her cowardice and poor performance with wokeness. Expect Meghan Markle to fly to her rescue at any moment. She is certainly no hero!

You want a hero? Try looking up Shun Fujimoto. He represented Japan in the 1976 Olympics. He was a gold medal gymnast who won while performing with a broken leg! He refused to stop or let his team down. They won against Russia by four tenths of a point! Celebrate THAT! By comparison, Biles is the ultimate loser.

“Our athletes” aren’t up to the pressure? It seems to me one of our athletes isn’t up to the pressure, and waited till the middle of the event to come to that conclusion, instead of realizing it months ago, when she knew it was an issue, and someone else could have gone in her place. This isn’t an epidemic, the onus isn’t on everything but Biles, the onus is on her. The object lesson is to realize one’s limits before committing to the effort; it is not ok to bail out on one’s team after you’ve made the commitment. I’ve seen too many athletes press on in the face of great adversity to call what she did heroic.

They are using her sexual abuse as an excuse.

As horrid as that was...and as much as it could cause someone to break...i suspect the ritalin issue is at play here. At a minimum her body will be reacting to the loss of it if Japan did not grant her an exemption

Here’s some better apples.
Someone got to her.
She sold out.
This whole thing is contrived.
