Ya see, it used to be the other way around. Candidates would give lip service to conservative to get their votes. They had to pretend to be conservative. And once safely elected, they could vote as they liked and count on the party to reelect them.
But the days of that game are over.
These candidates keep going after the "independents" (who vote for democrats), because their consultants told them so.
How about, I don't know, standing for something, and not flinching and going all wobbly when questioned?

I wonder what the New Jersey candidate had in mind to discuss with the people at the gun range? Maybe something like “hey, we can ban some guns but still have hunting and target shooting, etc”. Giving firearms prohibitionists the short end of the wedge is never a winner.

LOL, “Rep moderates” aka RINO’s.
They all need to go and it will take a bit of time. Then any that try to get themselves elected who are not committed Patriots need to know they are wasting their time.
What has happened to us began over 60 yrs ago and it cannot be undone over night.

The vast majority of people who would consider voting for a Republican, are looking for a strong, principled person who supports Donald Trump. Focus on that demographic, and win.

Asked if he would defend Planned Parenthood or "take it to the abortionists" if elected, Youngkin said, "I’m going to be really honest with you. The short answer is in this campaign, I can’t. When I’m governor and I have a majority in the House we can start going on offense. But as a campaign topic, sadly, that in fact won’t win my independent votes that I have to get.” So, he's telling his pubbie audience that he is going to lie to the independents {hoping to get their votes} but if he wins and gets a majority then he will screw the Planned Parenthood baby killers.
He is an equal opportunity liar and with this wishy-washy approach he will never beat Terry Mc Awful.

They can go be real Democrats instead of assistant ones. There are no milquetoast moderates in that party. It’s 100% commie.

Republicans need permission from Trump,a billionaire real estate developer who made *full* employment a fact here...Rats need permission from AOC and Omar,a bartender and a Somali moslem refugee who made the firebombs and bricks of summer 2020 possible.
What a dilemma for an ordinary bloke like myself.

They now need a waiver from Trumpists, who don’t believe in compromise or moderation.
************************************************************
Trumpists don’t believe in “surrender” and “marxism”.

Face it, the Club Republican RINO 10 percenters are leading the globalist “Cheap Labor Express” train. Unfortunately that 10 has all the party power and money.

In Virginia, George Youngkin also made a plea for strategic sympathy at a recent campaign event.Youngkin is terrible. He wil lose badly 65/35 in a 50/50 state.

""I’m going to be really honest with you.” So, he's basically saying that he is perfectly willing to lie to get into office, but we should trust him, because he's on our side.
I can't go for that. No can do.

Give up your unapologetic pro constitutional conservatism and let me behave more like a Democrats and maybe I will give you a little lip service once I am elected.
But probably not.😊

explaining why they can't win without broadening their appeal beyond the Kool-Aid-besotted base that has hijacked the Republican Party Really now? It's worked swimmingly for the Democrats.

I don’t disagree with you, but in some of these areas Trump’s message simply doesn’t resonate with more than 25% of the electorate. He wouldn’t win in New Jersey, for example, if he ran unopposed.

explaining why they can't win without broadening their appeal beyond the Kool-Aid-besotted base that has hijacked the Republican Party. Way to sweet talk the vast majority of Republicans. Who are they going to broaden the appeal to? A tiny cabal of globalist neocons over at National Review? Trump broadened appeal to working stiffs, blacks, latinos... you know, the kind of folks that the country club, checkered pants, and white tassel shoe crowd views with such distaste.

Fundamentally insincere qualifier. Such qualifiers cause me to immediately dismiss the remaining discussion. "To tell you the truth"
