LIFE ELEVATED, Utah’s state slogan, well describes the geology (high desert, mountains), the culture (adventurous), and the almost endless opportunities for outdoor recreation (world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, golfing, etc.) and affirms living rather than merely existing – not bad for only two words! Contrast this with many places struggling through the COVID and BLM hell of 2020 and beyond.
Consider someone with means spending the last year locked down in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, NYC, San Francisco, et al in a cramped apartment among a sea of cramped apartment buildings. With edicts and “Karens” preventing enjoying even a walk in the park let alone dinner out, gathering with friends, and other old-normal activities what kind of living is that? The only arguments for living in major urban centers (and paying the associated price) are culture, cuisine, entertainment opportunities -- and those all vanished. Further, add nightly rioting and looting, harassment of the general public, arson, and vandalism, and the full enabling of the woke mobs doing this by the so-called leadership of these cities. Here is the question -- why would you stay there, and who the hell would chose to move there now?
The flyover states generally, and the red ones in particular (you know who you are) tend to be low tax, low regulation, low housing cost (especially for suburban homes with yards), pro police, low crime, low regulation (especially as pertains to COVID), and people are more friendly and willing to mind their own business. Also much less prone to riots, looting, and burning down their community and have gun laws that allow the general populace to deal with troublemakers as needed compared to the progressive urban havens.

Good find, thank you for the post.
Good way to turn red states purple or worse.
Those seeking refuge in Rural Texas are not a negative takeover, most are like those who have always been drawn to Texas.
Those seeking to leach on the State Capital, have the wrong motives for coming to Texas. (sizable parts of Austin is weird and leftist)
We will deal with the problems children.
Henderson County has taken in just under 100 former calis in the last year according to my friend in the tax office. (Cedar Creek Lake area)
And then there is the 'state' religion...
Well, at least that slogan's in season 12 months a year, unlike "Greatest Snow on Earth"...

Transplanted Californians have changed Utah in unhealthy ways. They’ll do the same any where they migrate. They’re like locusts.
Much the same problem in the middle of PA, from transplanted NY and NJ residents. Many in my family are leaving or considering it, including me. Here, the hoodlums are taking over, and spreading street drugs and evil politics to a populace already rather softened up by public schooling.
we paid them to breed ...
NBA players are thoroughbreds
Living in a sparsely populated area, we escape almost all of the problems of the larger cities(except the high prices). Life is better, but many of those living in high-population areas tease us as being “hillbillies” & worse. I think most of those in the big city areas would move out if they could. If & when they do, I hope & pray they leave their crazier ideas back where they came from. The exodus from California to places like Colorado has caused many problems & they had enough already.
‘We will deal erIt’s the problem children’
As in fixing the problem? How? Hadn’t happened yet
You have dem voters flooding across the southern border and Californians and others doubling the traffic in a multi million pop city of San Antonio. Housing market up 20% since November
Nope
Texas almost lost the senate seat to Beto.
That close margin emboldened Dems enough to try steal it. Harris sNF Biden campaigned in Houston a week before Election Day
Going blue in UT. The Salt Lake City Council just passed a resolution that racism is a major health crisis.
“Texas almost lost the senate seat to Beto.”
Not close. But Ted Cruz made really stupid position calls just before the election. I suspect for benefactor’s money.
Beto is no where near taking high public office in Texas.
Corrupt to the core and out of character with TX, Period.
We have some in our small town, all that I know are Republican.
They voted with their feet and left the CA cesspool.
I admit what is going into parts of Houston, San Antonia and Austin are too strong with leftist freaks.
Beta is a useful idiot.
He is great at vacuuming up liberal $$$ and p*ssing it away in failed campaigns.
Absolutely true.
‘Not close’
Stop wasting my time
‘Cruz defeated O’Rourke by a margin of 50.9 to 48.3 percent; the race was the closest U.S. Senate race in Texas since 1978.’
