LOVING my 1 ton 1976 Chevy dually even more....regardless of the MPG.
No comment from the globalists.
Here’s a thought.
Stop putting so many dang computers in the cars.
And bring back keys for the ignition.
Conspiracy theories have become spoilers...
Anyone else thinking there’s something awfully convenient about the timing of this chip shortage..
There’s a Mercedes dealership in my town that has a huge lot where they store new cars ready for sale. Typically it has 30 to 40 cars on that lot. Drive by today and it’s empty.
If you want to buy a car with fancy chips, you have to buy it from CHI NAH.
“Fold” = Found On Lot, Dead?
Anyone who’s worked in the automotive supply chain knows how invasive and demanding their supplier quality assurance people are, putting suppliers through the wringer to prevent exactly this scenario.
One SQA person told me “We don’t build cars with holes in the dashboard”. Well, now they do, apparently...
They need need to build supply-chain resiliency for the long term.
.
HopefuLly a wakeup call to the woke engineers that want to computerize the crap out of cars. Time to buy a motorcycle.
They told us where the car plants are. They didn’t mention where the chip plants are.
When they do get the chips for the trucks I wonder what kind of deals there will be for 2-3 year old “new” trucks?
.
After this? I
“A state-backed Communist Chinese firm has conducted a hostile takeover of the UK’s largest microchip factory, raising concerns about Beijing’s growing control of the market during a global chip shortage.
On Monday, Dutch semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia, which is controlled by the China-owned electronics firm Wingtech, took 100 per cent control of the Newport Wafer Fab’s factory in South Wales after using a contractural clause to seize the company.”
I’d almost think there’s evil afoot.
If you have a late model car/truck that has a part with one of those chips go bad, how long do you have to park your car/truck while waiting on that chip?
I guess Cuba has one up on us when it comes to cars/trucks.
All these fancy-schmancy, newfangled doodads they put in new cars, and they won’t even crank. You can thank the EPA for this crap. A new set of plug wires and a set of distributor points, and that ‘70 Chevelle grocery-getter is good for another 50,000 miles.
I never recall seeing a shortage of carburetors or distributors or points and condensers when I started driving back in the 60’s.
There is no chip shortage. It is a labor shortage the liberals do not want to discuss or expose to the public.
Make chips here.
Insane to have our car production held hostage by China or any nation
