Electric cars to outsell combustion vehicles by 2036: analysis

A newly conducted analysis predicts that sales of electric vehicles will outpace combustion vehicles by 2036 in the United States.

Ernst & Young (EY) released an analysis stating that Europe will sell more zero emission vehicles than combustion vehicles by 2028 and that threshold is expected to be reached in China in 2033 and in the U.S. in 2036.

According to EY's predictions, within the next 10 years, electric vehicles are expected to outsell combustion vehicles in the main global markets. In the next 25 years, combustion vehicles or non-electric cars are expected to only make up one percent of the global market

I would take that bet IF I thought I would live that long. I would be 96 by then.

California is already telling people with EV’s that they cannot charge them.

If half of all the cars now on the road were battery-only EVs, we’d have to build 100 new nuclear power plants to produce the electrons they’d need to run on, and we’d need to beef up the entire country’s electric grid by around 40%.

And if you think there’s a snowflake’s chance in hell that either of those two things will come to pass inside of 14 years, you last name must be ‘Biden.’

If there was really belief in globull warming, Biden would have to be building dozens of nuke power plants and firing cruise missles at the hundreds of new Chinese coal plants.

“Consulting companies” justify what their clients already want. Otherwise they wouldn’t make any money from the “consultation”. They have no clue otherwise, and while the broken clock may be right twice a day, they’re otherwise stupid.

Btw, if there was one correct solution, why are there so many “constultants?”

I’m not sure how simple the blades are to be replaced. I suspect at a minimum the rotor and all of the blades have to be inspected.

The blades for other cracks or defects.

Initial balancing is done by computer which sets the locations of the blades on the rotor. The final balance involves placing weights in a cut in the end. Another question is was the rotor damaged or anything else if a blade/s left the machine.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a gas turbine weighed the same or more than an equivalent HP steam turbine. Steam turbines aren’t exposed to the temperatures gas turbines do.

Let me stipulate: The Green New Deal is a harebrained scheme. Electric vehicles are being promoted dishonestly. My short “analysis” was merely intended to investigate the limitation on electric vehicle availability imposed recharging time and compare it to an ICE vehicle. The ICE wins easily, but if you do not use your vehicle for more than 300 miles a day, the limited availability does not impose any serious limitations. BTW, my camera has swappable batteries. Long haul trucks, could have swappable batteries, perhaps maintained by a company that specializes in renting charged batteries. Who knows?

To an order of magnitude, it makes no difference.

Next time I need an answer to within an order of magnitude and I can't guess it off the top of my head, I'll be sure to check with the IEEE.

I knew there was a reason I never joined.

And with all natural gas and/or coal powered electric plants along with all nuclear power plants being shut down, there won’t be enough electricity to recharge the batteries. And when the hydro-electric dams go, it will only be worse.
