'Nothing off limits': Dems targeting Trump in probe of Jan. 6 violence

In a move that will surprise no one, Democrats have announced they are putting a bull's-eye on President Trump in their "investigation" of the violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The Guardian reports U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., who was appointed chair of a House select committee on the events of that day, pledged to "investigate Donald Trump."

The Guardian said it interviewed Thompson, asking him if he's prepared to depose members of Congress and the Trump administration.

"Absolutely," Thompson promised. "Nothing is off limits."

This corrupt inquisition will go on until the mid-terms.

It's instructive that they purposely selected the chair for this "committee" from the South, to make it look like Trump has no refuge. The lying left does this often.

The Democrats are terrified of Trump and they know they are going to lose big in 2022.

The FEAR of exposure is the key to all their BS. Trump will expose them to everyone as to what they are.

“they know they are going to lose big in 2022”

You sure about that?

>>Why not? Trump is the most investigated man in human history.<<

If they put 1/1000th the resources into investigating the JFK assassination as just Trump’s tax returns, much less everything else about him, his family, and his lineage back to when his ancestor Donrock Trumpstone opened up the Bedrock Trumpstone hotel we would not only know who did it (or confirm Oswald did it) but we would know everyone who ever even called JFK a bad name.

If they put 1/10th the resources into her, hiLIARy would be in prison.

I hope this drags into the 2022 campaign. Some of the “inquisitors” won’t be back and the others will be in the minority.

If the GOP doesn’t grow a pair between now and the 2022 elections and police the voting process, this Republic is finished and the GOP will cease to exist.

Could you just see President Trump in a hearing??????

He would MANAGE TO NAME EVERYTHING HE WOULD WANT THE MSM TO COVER, since they to NOT cover all he has to say and even bans him from Twitter...this is a perfect opportunity to GET IT ALL OUT and hold nothing back.

Yes, I would watch gleefully.

Go Nasty, go and ask for trouble.

You mean the willingly-compliant GOP branch of the Uniparty?

They’ve been ideologically shifting left in a big way since the 1950s. Books have been written about this phenomenon, even back then. Reagan even commented on this in a letter to Nixon back in 1960 (see my tagline). Since “grow a pair” means for them to suddenly change their long-held ideologies, do not expect that to happen.
The New Deal, Dean Acheson wrote approvingly in a book called A Democrat Looks At His Party, “conceived of the federal government as the whole people organized to do what had to be done.” A year later, Mr. (Arthur) Larson wrote A Republican Looks At His Party, and made much the same claim in his book for modern Republicans. The “underlying philosophy” of the New Republicanism, said Mr. Larson, is that “if a job has to be done to meet the needs of the people, and no one else can do it, then it is the proper function of the federal government.”

Here we have, by prominent spokesmen of both political parties, an unqualified repudiation of the principle of limited government. There is no reference by either of them to the Constitution, or any attempt to define the legitimate functions of government. The government can do whatever needs to be done; note, too, the implicit but necessary assumption that it is the government itself that determines what needs to be done. We must not, I think, underrate the importance of these statements. They reflect the view of a majority of the leaders of one of our parties, and of a strong minority among the leaders of the other, and they propound the first principle of totalitarianism: that the State is competent to do all things and is limited in what it actually does only by the will of those who control the State. …

Pelosi essentially bragged that she called the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - Gen. Milley - after January 6th and asked that there be an interruption of the chain of command until Biden were sworn in in January 20th. Pelosi is welcome to her opinion, but the Speaker of the House is nowhere in the chain of command between the Commander in Chief and any of the armed forces. It would be a totally unconstitutional effort to place one of the legislative branch in the decision making of the executive branch. I don't expect that Pelosi recognizes this - but Milley better have refused all of her requests in that direction. If he accommodated her - he needs to be removed.

I want there to be an investigation of all communication between Pelosi, her staff and Milley and his staff on this matter. The FBI was running cell communications capture devices near the Capital on the 6th, I want metadata as to all communications (including Pelosi and her staff, office and cell phones) and perhaps from the NSA actual transcription of those calls. Covering January 5th - January 20th.

If nothing is off limits, the GOP should push HARD on who unlocked the doors.

Wally, I am greatly concerned.

Everything you say is valid. I keep thinking, however, WHO are we going to have on whom we can depend to take care of all the illegalities?

FBI?, big NO, DOJ?, really big NO. It is frightening to consider that we have questionable law enforcement.

The Sheriffs? The Marshalls? The (shudder) Military?
