The Delta Variant comprises 83 percent of sequenced coronavirus cases in the United States, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky said on Tuesday.
Walensky announced the figure during a Tuesday appearance before the Senate Health Committee, effectively blaming low vaccination rates for the spread of the variant, contending it has allowed “for the emergence and rapid spread of the highly transmissible Delta Variant.”

As usual, no breakdown of how serious the “cases” are. The test has quarantined people who aren’t sick at all. The public is bring conditioned to equate “case” with “in the hospital with a breathing tube”.

Ditto here in Wilmington NC, all the hospitalized are unvaccinated. Over 20 patients in the ICU now, reopening the covid ICU.
The bad news, Delta is more infectious.
The good news, so far it’s less virulent.
