On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy stated that, even if you’re vaccinated, if you live in an area with high infection numbers and have children too young to be vaccinated, “wearing a mask, especially in indoor settings when you go out, is the right thing to do” even though the risk of transmission is small. And that localities with rising cases “should strongly consider” reinstituting masks.
Murthy said, “I know that, if you’re fully vaccinated, like you and I are, our risk of both getting sick and transmitting it to our children is low. But if you are in an area where there’s a lot of infection or if you’re worried about that risk of transmission, then wearing a mask, especially in indoor settings when you go out, is the right thing to do. That’s what I do. Because again, I want to take every possible measure to protect my child, even though the risk is low, given that I live in an area where there’s a lot of virus being transmitted, I want to be extra cautious. And so, that’s what I do, and that’s what all parents can do, is take that extra step.”

Loading your kids onto the cattle cars when we tell you to is the right thing to do.
I am a free man, i will conduct my life on my terms, doing whatever i feel like.
Good Luck! Try putting up chicken wire over your windows to keep mosquitos out, I think this works...
OH MY GOD... the kid might get sick for a few days. STOP THE PRESSES.
NOT wearing a mask is the right thing to do if you have unvaccinated children. It’s also the right thing to do if you have vaccinated children.
Shaddup, death eater Murthy.
*F* all these experts. I’m so done with being jerked around by a bunch of self righteous camera hungry blowhards.
SG doing statist bong hits again.
Today, conservatives have more in common with Hendrix ...
....and Dems are aligned with that putz Dave Grohl and other losers.
Red America isn’t buying into the Cult of the Mask. Although I belong to a Blue church where most parishioners mask up, I have recently started to attend services at a Red church. Among the thousands of worshippers at Sunday morning services, very few wear masks. And almost no one wears a mask at weekly meetings of our patriot group and at Recall (California governor) Newsom rallies.
I see now that the Foo Fighters are doing covers of Bee Gees songs.
The chief difference between Dave Grohl and Yoko is she’s living off a dead Beatle while he’s living off Kurt.
Jimi Hendrix is another example, of the Left trying to make him one of their own, although the evidence shows he was an avowed anti-Communist, and while may not have overtly supported the Vietnam War, understood why we were there, and that his Star-Spangled Banner at Woodstock was never meant as a protest against the war.
Funny that the other Nirvana member, Krist Novoselic, dropped out of music, and check this out, looks like the Left has cancelled him:
Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic deletes Twitter after backlash for supporting Trump
What is the likelihood that an unmasked asymptomatic person will infect someone else with Covid? How does that likelihood change if he is masked? Order of magnitude approximations are fine, as long as they’re backed by well-validated empirical data and sound reasoning.
If you cannot answer those questions, please shut up about masks. My guess is that, after reading published research, the answer to the first question is “quite low”, and to the second question is “very little”.
If you can answer those questions, please direct me to the data, and the reasoning. And make sure the data include real-world results for all masks tolerated by the government, not just fitted N95 masks.
I assume he doesn’t drive a car. Not with kids. Because he wants to do everything possible to keep them safe. And don’t even MENTION climbing a tree!
Then there is this from the UK
“Government Advisor Admits Masks Are Just “Comfort Blankets” That Do Virtually Nothing”
Is that the “science” advice for today?
Or should I await the changed advice I will get tomorrow?
Or the completely different advice I’ll get the day after?
Rinse, repeat.
Glad my chosen profession of math/physics/engineering doesn’t have equations that manage to have different solutions each day. (But if leftists have their way, they will. BLM math, ya know.)
Apparently I am a member of a blue church.
They do the mask silliness and I do not go. I went to drive in church with my wife. She is a believer in the new religion of the virus/mask/vaccine so she goes in the building. I get the newsletters.
Kind of bummed but I have mostly given up on people anyway and go on my own as best as I can. I’ve always been kind of an unwanted type so no major changes.
