Labour’s Sadiq Khan has said he was “disappointed” that the national government did not mandate continued mask-wearing on public transport after the London mayor ordered travellers to continue to cover their faces on Transport for London (TfL) services after ‘Freedom Day’.
While most of England is free to abandon masks for shopping and travel on public systems, London’s Mayor Khan tweeted out reminders that “face coverings are compulsory on TfL” as he launched the “Welcome back London” campaign to woo people onto buses and the Tube again.

Just because Muslim women are subordinate and must wear face coverings doesn’t men the rest of the non-Muslims must be subordinate and wear them too.
Given that Khan is loudly Muslim, the term “training burka” sometimes used for masks seems apt here.
“Labour’s Sadiq Khan..”
British version of our filthy democrats.
Saw a muslim woman at an outdoor mall yesterday. She had the head scarf wrap and a blue paper mask. If she had a full Saudi style burka she wouldn’t need the blue paper mask.
Because London is not Pakistan yet.
I don’t understand why everything else can be 100 percent open yet you need a face diaper on a plane or in a medical setting?
After a year and a half of masks, lockdowns, social distancing, quarantines, travel restrictions and multiple vaccines, I think most people finally understand that we are just going to have to live normally and ride this virus out.
so he can’t mandate it for london... good
Someone should tell Khan that there is a mask which is 100% effective in blocking all viruses. One simply needs to go to a grocery store and have your purchase placed into a plastic bag, then put the bag over the head, and tie it around the neck.
Geez. If I were him I’d leave the UK and let them hack it out. Sack up sad-eek and do what’s right.
Well, it helps a bit if someone wants to remain unidentified. Might be what they are looking for to protect the guilty, at least to some extent.
