My son lives in a wooded enclave in the heart of a fair sized city. A n electric transmission line skirts the neighborhood and also a green way extending for miles. Both provide a corridor into the wooded neighborhood of fifty or so homes.
The back of their lot is wooded and frequented by deer and at least one box turtle that makes an appearance now and then. For at least two seasons, coopers hawks nested in the frond yard.
Strangely believe it, a red fox some how found her way through a corridor and made a den under the yard barn. She had a litter and the first notice was the three pups (kits) playing in the grass.
