The Norwegian women’s beach handball team just did not want to be sexualized and be comfortable as they played the sport that they loved.
At the European Championships in beach handball, the game attire has landed in the spotlight with specific rules for how the women should be dressed, according to the sport’s regulations.
“Women should wear a bikini where the top should be a tight-fitting sports bra with deep openings at the arms,” the international regulations state. “The bottom must not be more than ten centimeters on the sides.”
“First we were told about a fine of 50 euros per person per match, something that would have landed us a fine of about 4,850 euros. We accepted that”, player Katinka Haltvik told the national broadcaster NRK. “However, just before the match we were told that we will be disqualified if we play like that. So we had to go with the bikini bottoms.”
The European Handball Federation EHF tried to explain that they have merely clarified the list of penalties for the Norwegian Federation, but that disqualification was never an option.
“We have lost players due to the suits. The players tell me they are uncomfortable, feel naked, and watched. It is a sport with a lot of movement and you are hindered by the bikini,” French national team manager, Valérie Nicolas said, backing Norway. “There is also discomfort associated with menstruation and not least religion.”
The women wore what they wanted despite the rules.

I hate this disgusting display of females in beach volleyball, e.g. They’re clearly made to be sexualized and excite (im)mature males. Hell, their “bikinis” are the very minimalist. It’s disgusting.
Meanwhile males wear baggy pants and shirts. Not very attractive but at least reasonably modest. And not very convenient flexible wear, anyway.
Good on Norway ladies pushing decent attire.

They should be able to wear those shorts.
Mainly because the longer shorts will allow the girls to run without insides of their thighs chafing. Repeated chafing will end up will painful areas tween the legs.
That should be common sense, especially at their advanced level of sport.

Actually since the “sexual revolution” this has been getting worse. Should be no surprise. Meanwhile, it’s also led to homosexual normalizing and tranny normalizing.
It’s so ironic how the clamoring for “women’s rights” goes on, but meanwhile everything is MUCH more openly sexualized than it ever was at the time it was first belly-ached about.
Ugh, that's probably why this dress code is being pushed.

They should wear whatever they want but not complain when nobody watches them.

There are going to be some interesting “wardrobe malfunctions” when they start getting standard-equipment males who “identify as women,” on the teams.
Why would they go into such detail on what the participants wear?
That one looks dignified and utilitarian.
Not everyone is built for a bikini bottom, no matter how fit they are.
