Taliban warn Turkey against extending troop presence in Afghanistan amid US pullout

The Taliban on Tuesday warned Turkey against extending its troop presence in Afghanistan when US-led forces leave the country, insisting the decision was “reprehensible”. Advertising

“The decision... is ill-advised, a violation of our sovereignty and territorial integrity and against our national interests,” the group said in a statement, days after Ankara agreed with Washington to provide security for Kabul airport when foreign forces leave next month.

“We consider stay of foreign forces in our homeland by any country under whatever pretext as occupation,” the Taliban said.

As foreign forces wind up their withdrawal -- due to be completed by August 31 -- the situation on the ground is changing rapidly.

The insurgents have swept through much of northern Afghanistan in recent weeks, and the government now holds little more than a constellation of provincial capitals that must largely be reinforced and resupplied by air. ADVERTISING

On Tuesday, the head of a Taliban commission that oversees government forces who surrender to the insurgents urged the residents of cities to reach out to them.

“Now that the fighting from mountains and deserts has reached the doors of the cities, Mujahiddin don’t want fighting inside the city,” Amir Khan Muttaqi said in a message tweeted by a Taliban spokesman, using another term for the group.

“It is better... to use any possible channel to get in touch with our invitation and guidance commission,” he said, adding this would “prevent their cities from getting damaged”. (more at link)

The Turks would not have the same rules of engagement the US did.

Lol. We aren’t even fully gone and they are at it already.

This is why Israel will survive. The muslims hate each other first and foremost.

That’s true. They showed that in Korea, they were probably the toughest soldiers of the lot there.

Did the old Ottoman Empire include Afghanistan? Just wondering if Erdogan is trying to expand to encompass past glory, or has another motive.

Interesting to note, that Iran stands in between Turkey and Afghanistan.

Not all Muslims love each other just because they’re Muslim.

Take away a common enemy and they’ll start spitting each other’s throats in minutes.

Good. Erdoo’s Turkey is not an ally to the West.

Under Erdoo, Turkey is a threat to all it’s neighbors.

But O’Biden’s surrogates are not smart enough to be able to figure that out. They are all about selling US out for the money, no matter the source or ultimate cost.

Turkey and Iran are the 2 worst players in the Middle East.

All of their neighbors understand that. There is no way to “cure” Turkey under Erdoo.

I’m beginning to like the Taliban. Protective of their national territory, victors against invaders, financially solvent, strong fundamental values.

Those long shiny bayonets were impressive.

Interesting. Twitter obviously has no reservations against providing a platform for muslim terrorists.

It is a rare day in any week when
E-Dog’s Turkey receives a Direct Warning from any country.
Israel calls Turkey: “Did you hear what the Taliban just said about you?
You just gonna take that?”

THIS is why Washington’s warning against “entangling alliances” and Ike’s warning against the M.I.C. are more important now than ever.
