Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said on July 12 that police officers from around the United States are welcome to relocate to Florida for a better workplace “culture” if they feel disenchanted.
“I do think you will see; I think you’ve already seen. But there are people in these police departments in various other parts of the country who, if they can get a job in Florida, they want to come to Florida to be able to do it,” he said, according to local media. “Because the culture is better, and they understand they’re going to be supported much more resolutely [in] what they do.”
DeSantis referenced rampant anti-police protests last year following the death of George Floyd, arguing that lack of support for law enforcement has caused crime rates to spike. Some city governments moved to cut funding to their police departments in the face of left-wing calls to “defund the police.”
Some cities such as Baltimore, Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, Minneapolis, and Portland, Oregon, cut police funding in the wake of the demonstrations and riots—although some municipalities recently have begun to pledge additional funding to departments.
“Make no mistake: the reason that you have such huge spikes in crime in many parts of the country is because of not standing up for law enforcement, having weak policies where you’re letting people out, and you’re not prosecuting people who are committing habitual offenses,” the Republican governor said. “That is clearly causing disastrous consequences.”

An analysis by The Epoch Times last month revealed that the top three police departments in the country—New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago—have lost thousands of officers since 2019.

No other Governor is clearly making that statement.
He will be heard and most likely believed.
From what I have seen, cops stood by while Trump supporters were beaten. So far I haven’t seen any cops even attempt to do their job when it comes to the left vs the right. Usually, thy arrest the one trying to protect themselves.
Of course, they’ll have to deal with “Florida Man” so it won’t be all beer and skittles.

It’s hard to say. I tend to agree with Jane, in that I think that most intelligent police officers will realize that they have been burned by the Democrats.
I bet a lot of them are secret Trump voters. Most people are afraid to admit it.

This election was a travesty. I will never believe that a man who attracted 100s of thousands of people to his rallies lost to a man who attracted tens of cars to his. And his supporters were, more than likely, had their windows rolled up and were wearing masks. Idiotic fools.
Back to the point, I think blue collar workers (not sure if police fall in that category) generally love and support Trump.
It used to be that the cops and military were generally conservative. Years of non-stop propaganda from the educational system and the media has changed that. Sad and scary.
This kicked to the curb blue man from a blue state would take up that offer and vote solidly “red” for true “red” men (and women!)

DeSantis’ comment only seems strong in comparison to the nutlets wonders of other Republicans. DeSantis should have outright accused them of leading the attacks on U.S. cities because there was outright coordination between Democrats and “Just an Idea” Antifa.
I hope you’re right. I do hate to see any police officer enforce unconstitutional laws, just as I would with any military officer. These folks need to pick sides before they contaminate decent areas of the country. Stop enforcing unlawful orders!!!

Even in San Francisco. I’ve heard it from the horses’ mouths. They’re sick of the liberal crap and dream of getting the hell out, but the pay is good. They’re sticking around just long enough to qualify for fat pensions. I’d love to see data in 5-10 years on where those pension checks are mailed (or wired). Guessing it’s going to be far away in Red State America in many cases.
