The Federal Communications Commission waived its rules so Amazon can build radar sensors that the company says would be used to track people’s sleep.
The federal government’s exemption for Amazon paves the way for the tech giant to monitor users’ movements in the bedroom with extreme precision — all without users having to press a button.
The FCC accepted Amazon’s claim that the tech would be used to improve users’ health and wellness.

Saw a billboard today in Granbury (Texas y’all) that reminded: Shop local. Jeff Besos does not pay for school programs.

Turn it off or surround it with radar absorbent, carbon rich foam.

up/down/up/down....sleep...
Full on Orwell
Amazon needs the Bell Telephone treatment!
If most of my neighbors are going to get this, then I guess I’m going to have to full aluminum foil and turn my house into a Faraday Cage.
Last week I saw a TV commercial for a Google made bed with internet connected sensors that tracks your bed movements, supposedly to teach you to improve your sleep, and I was incredulous.
Now Amazon goes a step further with RADAR?
What kind of idiot would buy something like this????
“Stop the near insanity!”
I hope I live long enough to be part of the backlash, right now my Magic 8 Ball says: “Outlook not so good”.
Park it in the microwave.
Google <> Amazon
Alexa: “great stamina, Joe, you made love three times today!”
Joe: “I did??? When was this???”
Alexa: “between 3 and 4 this afternoon”
Joe: “I was at work. Alexa, call my attorney.”
Or don’t buy one in the first place.
Even my ‘95 Kenmore side by side?
It seems to me the radar function might be equally useful for locating a home’s inhabitants to aid the Swat team’s no-knock warrant invasion.
Google maps pictures my address as the place next door so I’ve got that going for me ...
;-)
I got an Echo Spy in your home device as a gift from a company at Christmas. Seeing as it was free and I had NO plans of ever using it. I took it out in the garage to see what it was made of and used a hammer in an attempt to dissasseble it. I was able to tear away some of the material on the outside. But shortly I got bored with it and could barely dent the thing! I successfully crushed in the on button (or whatever it was) and then gave it a burial at sea in a 5 gallon bucket over night to experiment on it further. The water didn't seem to penetrate the object and I ended up chucking it in the trash can. I know, a small and somewhat childish victory. LOL And Sarah Conner got rid of the Terminator faster.
“The federal government’s exemption for Amazon”
Funny how that works.
Also, not in my bedroom.
These days Billionaires can buy anything from the three letter agencies. Kinds like street walkers.
