Left wing country phony Garth Brooks was one of the first. It's all corrupted. A friend of mine worked as session guitarist in Nashville doing rock/country/Christian. He told me (shockingly) the rottenest was the Christian industry, followed by country, and then rock.

Country music is not country any more, the only kind of country music that still actually “sounds” country, is bluegrass. As far as I can tell, the communists and queers haven’t taken it over...yet.
Most of the pop garbage passed off as "country" on the radio is no more "country" than Barry Manilow or Tupac.

You can’t just sing a pop song with a southern accent and call it a country song. A great many in the industry now are poseurs. They aren’t country. Real country tells woke to pound sand.

That’s exactly why I’ve always enjoyed Bluegrass, but for the most part never cared much for Country!
Ratings are down across the board as well, entertainment television award shows news all of it They keep spouting it but the public is tuned out..

That certainly is apparent to me and most of my family and friends. It would be interesting to read a FR thread on how and why posters generally feel that that’s true.
People would just rather listen to old stuff than the new stuff.
Look what happens whenever some new Beatles compilation hits iTunes, they always go straight to number 1.
