The Olympics are upon us and we will see nationalism to its upmost. So, what happens with the “USA Sucks” crowd?
The athletes who have been poisoned in Anti-Americanism are a lost cause. Despite the fact that they are paid to compete for a country that they think they hate, they accept the money and run (or swim, or whatever) for The United States of America.
I am interested in seeing middle America’s reaction. Does our majority encourage wokery? Do we turn our backs on our misguided competitors? Or do we root for America to win no matter the means?
I, for one, will be rooting for the flag. When the grand totals are flashed, the individual athlete and any potential temper tantrums aren’t part of it. Yes, they will be given a lot of TV time at the event’s ending, but their complaint time passes quickly. How many golds, silvers and bronzes are categorized in the USA column versus the rest of the world is the final score.
I will Boo boys competing as girls. I will root for the defeat of our enemies. I will feel that familiar lump in my chest each time the National Anthem is played at an awards ceremony.
The naysayers will do whatever they do. That is our freedom. They get to.
My question is, how many of our regular Americans will be cheering America on?
My guess is that there are many.

Eff em... and I’ll go one further. I will not support a team that is coached by someone who tolerates such displays.
I am further not impressed with the news story in every Olympics about the semi-truck loads of condoms they consume in a bacchanal of perversion.
I hope they lose until they wake up.
Why should be give Woke Corporate Giants like Comcast-NBC one moment of our time to watch the Olympics. Why?
I will not watch because the event hasn’t interested in many years. But I wish all of the sincere athletes on the US teams all the best both in Tokyo and afterwards.
I predict that Covid tests are going to be used as political tool to render American favorites ineligible, due to the need to quarantine due to false positives, to compete in many events so that the Chinese will win.
Personally, they should cancel the Olympics. Our family won’t be watching them or even giving them the slightest attention.
No crowds at the games, right? So, the athletes’ woke pandering will be almost exclusively for the TV audience. Not watching a single minute, although I support the Olympics’ decision to enforce female gender requirements and keep the transgenders out of the womens’ events.
I don’t find a single event interesting. My wife likes to watch the Gymnastic events. I doubt there would be any woke grandstanding during the events themselves, more likely during the opening, closing and medal ceremonies, something we never watch.
Sure, karen. You are going to root for the guy who is probably going to win the women’s weightlifting competition?
If a person represents America in Olympic sports, then they should actively represent & promote America, not some goofy personal agenda. There is no place for that in the Olympics in my opinion.
May watch a couple events but going to miss the large majority of them.
