Hundreds of Thai Medical Workers Infected Despite Sinovac Vaccinations

BANGKOK— Thailand’s health ministry said on Sunday more than 600 medical workers who received two doses of China’s Sinovac vaccine have been infected with COVID-19, as authorities weigh giving booster doses to raise immunity.

Of the 677,348 medical personnel who received two doses of Sinovac, 618 became infected, health ministry data from April to July showed. A nurse has died and another medical worker is in critical condition.

An expert panel has recommended a third dose to trigger immunity for medical workers who are at risk, senior health official Sopon Iamsirithawon, told a news briefing on Sunday.

“This will be a different vaccine, either viral vector AstraZeneca or an mRNA vaccine, which Thailand will be receiving in the near term,” he said, adding that the recommendation will be considered on Monday.

The announcement comes as the Southeast Asian country reported a record high of 9,418 community infections on Sunday. On Saturday authorities reported a record of 91 new daily coronavirus fatalities.

Thailand has reported a total of 336,371 confirmed infections and 2,711 fatalities since the pandemic began last year.

Silly people. The vaccine is not about protecting you from the virus. Why would you even think it was?

“as authorities weigh giving booster doses to raise immunity.”

You mean, more jabs from the fake chicom vaccine? These people are idiots.

Yeah so many ignorant people think vaccine builds an air tight plastic shell around you.

They obviously never learned how vaccines work. Basically all vaccines do is familiarize your immune system with the protein signatures of the virus. So your body is better prepared to fight the virus when it invades your body.

I speak from personal experience. I was vaccinated for smallpox in kindergarten. At around 8 years age was in an over-crowded train journey of 8 hours. The virus invaded my body and made me very sick. But the vaccine probably saved me from joining the 30% mortality rate from smallpox.

Sinovac is Chinese garbage. Europe doesn’t recognize vaccinated with Sinovac as being vaccinated.

The standard response would be:

1. Of the 618 infected, how severe are their cases? How many asymptomatic or mild?

2. How many of these were bad enough to require hospitalizations?

3. 618 out of over 650,000 is a drop in the bucket.

I’ve read similar responses for all other vaccines, mRNA type or otherwise.

RE: Sinovac is Chinese garbage. Europe doesn’t recognize vaccinated with Sinovac as being vaccinated.

The same thing that happened in Thailand also happened in Indonesia.

But hey, the mRNA vaccines administered in Israel did not protect many from being infected with the Delta Variant. Do we call these American vaccines garbage because of that?

Thailand can mainly afford the cheaper Chinese vaccine. Some lucky Thai people have received the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The 2 vaccines used in United States are also available but the cost is beyond reach of most Thai people.

I read the article. The data sample is not big enough to draw conclusions. For example most of those testing positive are ones who were vaccinated early. Does that mean the duration of immunity has expired ? Or could it be that those vaccinated early being the elderly, had weakened immune systems and other medical conditions that made them more susceptible to the delta variant. They will have to wait until more data becomes available.

That’s the ticket. If it don’t work after 2 shots, keep pumping the poison into the patient.

Thailand and Indo should have ordered Covishield from India which is AstraZeneca by another name. And they should have done it before India’s second wave when India was still exporting vaccines.

A Chinese vaccine is to a vaccine as a Chinese fire drill is to a fire drill.

Wouldn’t those same questions apply to the Chinese vaccine as well?

So far it seems that just 1/1000th of the vaccinated medical workers have caught it, or enough that their infections were detected at all (and that is well within the margin of error of testing anyway), and one or three have died. Out of 670,000 people.

That sounds like a huge success to me, from a public health point of view. Nothing in human biology is ever going to be 100%. One must look at all these things from the 50,000 foot, numbers game POV, or one is asking to be led around by the nose, by emotionalism.

The Chinese have sold a LOT of Sinovac all over the world. They cranked out tremendous quantities very fast. In the third world (outside of India) Sinovac is the market leader.
And the other vaccine makers are only now beginning to make a dent in the global market. They are helped by Sinovacs’ perception of inferiority.

The numbers are still extremely small, relative to the population affected. Any conclusions are way premature.

How's this for a "50,000 foot, numbers game POV?"

4,000,000 global CCP virus deaths out of a global population of 7,900,000,000 = 0.05%, the average age was 80, the median age was 78.

The overwhelming numbeof the people who died were obese and old with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

This is not the case with the people dying from the “cure.”

We don’t need your experimental "vaccine," and experimenting on unwilling human subjects is a crime against humanity.
